This is the third completely different story I`ve seen online using the exact same pictures. All involved finding the baby squirrel, but under completely different circumstances. The internet has turned truth and reality into unobtainable dreams. You simply cannot take anything you see online at face value anymore.

I love how dummies like patchouly chime in on the internet, when they make up garbage comments as if it is fact.

Is there anything patchouly can`t comment on? Quite possibly the great genius of our time, with unlimited made up knowledge.

Or possibly an ass.

I have a theory about iabers...
with the exception of girls, those who post their picture as an avatar just so happen to be full of themselves...and by themselves, I mean crap.

Moral of the story, stop posting made up crap as fact. If we need to know how to look like a douchey singer in a Nickelback cover-band, we will call you.

@ Dm2754: *ahem* There has never been a case of a human contracting rabies from a squirrel. Not once. Bats? Raccoons? Foxes? Yes, yes, and yes. But squirrels? Never.

I`ll forgive you this time.

Well, sure--if you kick the poor squirrel out of your house once he`s grown up. On the other paw, if you provide him with a small down comforter, a regular supply of hazelnuts, the occasional bottle of craft-brewed hard cider, and free high-speed internet access, it`s like... totally awesome! =^.^=

Not a happy ending at all. We did this. Took in a baby squirrel after it`s mother was killed. Raised it until it was old enough to release and then contacted a squirrel rescue center.

The problem is, when you "rescue" a squirrel by bringing it into your home, it doesn`t learn how to forage for food. It loses it`s fear of humans and it is almost guaranteed to die within the first year of release. The woman who took the squirrel from us said that they keep them in outdoor cages with trees etc. They minimize human interaction. She said the worst thing you can do is pick it up and bring it into your home. It`s like an extended death sentence.

So a man finds a squirrel in the woods and the squirrel doesn`t have a home? It`s a squirrel! It lives in the woods!

My dog would love it, because once the squirrel is full grown they would be about the same size.

I am most amazed that there are now TWO internet-using squirrels contributing to this site! Add a third and you could form a singing group.
