you know what you get when fully pay off a preorder? a 100% chance guarantee that you will have a copy the day it comes out even if the game is sold out, and if they dont have a copy for you, you raise hell. my brother is working out in alberta (the middle of nowhere) and he preordered gta 5 at the nearest game store in town. but when he went to pick up, the guys at the store said they were all sold out. my brother was like, "NO, I have already paid for this game. Where is my copy?" and the guy working there was like we dont have any copies, so my brother asked to see the manager. my brother ended up getting the managers personal copy of gta 5, because that was not acceptable. here in the city all the game stores had hundreds of extras, but out in the middle of nowhere i guess they didnt have that many. preorders mean that even if the game is sold out, there should be a copy behind the counter with your name on it.

im a huge batman fanboy, and have bought the collectors edition of all batman arkham video games. but when i went to pre order the collectors edition of arkham origins, they told me they were sold out company wide. sold out even before the product hit the shelves. thats what pre ordering can do for you. hell the way most asswipe teenagers pay for a movie ticket is on their phone and they can reserve their seats. i dont have a drating phone that can do that. im one of those people who still walks into the theatre a half hour early to buy my ticket and get a good seat, but now with reserved seating and preordering tickets the movie i want to see is sold out hours before anyone is even there and the other shows have terrible seating. i have a problem with the future of theatre ticket purchasing. oh i got that batman arkham origins collectors edition by the way, i had to order it through amazon.

In my day we had competing systems too. Nintendo vs. Sega. Nintendo won of course. Why? The number of games it had just beat Sega to death, even though Sega had better graphics.

In the end, this battle will likely come down to the number of games as well. And quite frankly Ninetendo allows people to play all the old Wii games as well their new ones.

XBox and PS4 will pound each on each other, ignore Nintendo and once again Nintendo will win.

WOW, that couldn`t me more wrong. Nintendo isn`t even in the same league anymore. It`s for kids.

Kids whose parents are uber-religous pricks and believe that video game violence (aka fun) is will corrupt their small little minds.

You can`t compare Nintendo to Xbox and play station. Metroid and Zelda are the only redeeming titles for Nintendo. Other than that, it`s for kids.

@crakrjak backwards compatibility doesnt mean anything when your new games all look like they were made 10 - 15 years ago. nintendos losing this battle. handheld games are one thing, nintendos always been good at that but the wii u just doesnt offer anything significant. the kinect just completely blows the wii u`s motion sensor system out of the water (i cant speak for sony`s motion sensor system as ive never met anyone that had it) and that is the only thing that ever set the wii apart from everyone else. nintendo`s just gonna withdraw back into its handheld gaming division and (hopefully) just start pumping out remakes to classic games (SUPER SMASH BROS!) for the superior systems.

ok...thats a huge stretch but a guy can dream cant he?

You only want X-boxes and Playstations, because you don`t have limitless numbers of Chinese hookers streaming across your border. I haven`t played a video game since college.

    @turdburglar

I could talk about how Nintendo, while still nutty and really dead-set on being different instead of taking good ideas and building on them is still the essence of fun, or how I convinced my teenage Xbox-and-Playstation-playing cousins to buy a WiiU simply by playing Nintendo Land with them on Thanksgiving, or that Nintendo`s IPs are more iconic than anything Sony or Microsoft have ever produced...

But instead I`ll just list the numbers of consoles sold last generation:

    Xbox 360: 79.2 Million.
    PS3: 80.1 Million.
    Nintendo Wii: 103.1 Million.

    How about handhelds?

    PS Vita: 6.2 Million.
    Nintendo 3DS: 37 Million.

You`re right; Nintendo isn`t even in the same league.

Who`s you`re brother? I live in Alberta too, and yeah there`s so much nothing here I might actually know him.

And while I generally say pre-ordering is bull, I still do it at my local Best Buy since I know I`ll be buying it anyway and my buddy works there and it gives us a chance to chat while he`s working. Also they give me a $10 gift card for pre-ordering, which I usually save for my next pre-order. I never worry about not getting a game anyway because I`m usually so stoked for it I book it off and camp out with my chums, order pizza and make a time of it. I`ll be in Calgary doing that for the Xbox One Launch -even though I`m not buying it until Destiny comes out- and I`m looking forward to it.

I`m thinking that pre-order bit is a jab at those who pre-ordered the Stick of Truth over a year ago.

I have to admit, I`d give up video games for endless Chinese hookers too.
But since the hookers here are all.. Ugh.

Consoles have 100% ruined the industry for PC gamers. All the new games are total crap consol-ified versions of what they SHOULD have been.

I`m speaking from the bitterness about X Rebirth but it`s not the first disappointment of a PC game because of the lowest common denominator of crappy console hardware.
