Liberal Darling Alec Baldwin Suspened 2 Weeks

Submitted by: 5cats 3 years ago Entertainment

From his MSNBC show for calling a photographer a ""c*cksucking f*g"". Not his first offence BTW.

lauriloo, if you think Fox considers BSDNC to be any kind of a rival, let alone their MAIN rival, you are seriously delusional. Fox has half again more viewers than CNN and BSDNC combined. Trust me, the management and talent at Fox are less concerned about BSDNC than they are about stepping in chewing gum.

WTF is this argument about? Why is it surprising or somehow honorable that Fox is constantly on the lookout for something to slam their main rival MSNBC for to try to make up for all the debunking their bogus news gets on a daily basis? And Fox is well-known for reporting things with no time spent on fact-checking so of course they could barf the story up first and worry about it being wrong later. I heard about this on MSM since I DON`T watch Fox and I don`t subscribe to AC`s tweets.

Considering at least one of the people harassing him on the street was a FOX reporter, I wouldn`t put it past them to purposely provoke him to get him to explode since he`s done it in the past. This is why I thought it was a bad idea to give him a show because it was only a matter of time before he embarrassed MSNBC.

AC Cooper spoke as `citizen AC` on twitter, not as a representative of CNN.

Alec Baldwin spoke as `citizen Alec` not as a representative of MSNBC (since he was suspended).

Same!
Same, same... same!

I`ll try to spell it out for you without sarcasm:

#1 Who covered >>the video<< of Alec`s cussing?
A: Fox News Network and AC Cooper.

#2 Who did NOT cover the video?
A: MSNBC, CNN, Alec OR the rest of the MSM covered the video.

#3 Who covered >>the SUSPENSION<< of Alec? A day AFTER Fox and AC?
A: Everyone, including Alec.

AC Cooper was not "on the clock" OR "on the air" when he talked about the video, but (probably) did ALSO mention the SUSPENSION the next day, like all the other networks.

Alec never mentioned the video ON AIR AT ALL. He only talks about it AFTER the suspension, same for MSNBC News.

Simple! I don`t see what you`re all worked up about.

@WhoDat: But you`re not even CLOSE to comparing Apples to Apples here!
CNN NEWS DID NOT COVER IT until a day or two AFTER AC COOPER WROTE ABOUT IT.

See? Two separate things!

ALEC SPOKE ABOUT IT ONLINE: I never once claimed this counts as "MSNBC reporting" on the subject!

BOTH MEN WROTE PRIVATELY.
NEITHER NEWS NETWORK covered it until AFTER the suspension.

SAME F*CKING THING! Freaking identical.

I spoke of NEWS COVERAGE: you are talking about something completely different.
Fox mentioned it, And Anderson Cooper did, but NOT CNN News...
SEE? CNN is not the same as AC COOPER!
But both AC and Alec SPOKE ABOUT IT using NON-BROADCASTING METHODS!

Cite AC Cooper to your heart`s content! It`s not CNN; so I am 100% correct and you are 100% wrong.
Neither is Alec = MSNBC.

APPARENTLY YOU CANNOT READ ANYMORE, GO GET YOUR EYES CHECKED OK THANKS!

@5Cats - You`re a f*cking hypocrite, as usual. If you can cite Baldwin`s own words, public OR private, I can cite Cooper`s words, public OR private.

Suck it up a$$hole, you made a false accusation that the "MSM" ignored the story and you were proven WRONG.

This is why I hate you and this is why I constantly f*ck with you. You try to make rules that everyone but you has to follow, sorry, it doesn`t work like that. Considering the fact that this post is currently rated at a whopping 1.5 I think it`s safe to say the rest of IAB agrees with me.

@ReignBlazer: That may be true, in this case or in general, but it`s homophobia if you scream it at them in a public place, eh?

@WhoDat: Yes! Yes I can in fact.
His own words = public OR private. HE said it.
On the news = ON the news (public), not in private. CNN said it or not?

Unless AC Cooper said it on a public blog endorsed endorsed by CNN? That may be different. But he didn`t: (afaik) he said it on Twitter.

I sincerely doubt CNN controls or endorses AC Cooper`s personal Tweets & Twits & BookFaces...

@5Cats - Alec Baldwin`s blog is PERSONAL, just like Anderson Cooper`s Twitter account. If I can`t use examples from a personal Twitter account, you can`t use examples from a personal blog.

Alec Baldwin In His Own Words
On his OWN BLOG!
He denies saying those words = LOLZ! Funny!
Oh wait, he`s serious...

He admits to calling him a "toxic queen" which is also homophobic... that part is REALLY hard to hear in the video, sounds like "*mumble* queer" a little bit...

"I have been a fan of MSNBC for some time. Its left-leaning tone never bothered me."

@WhoDat & others: See? SEE? His own words, interpret them as you like!
His faovrites? "Maddow, Sharpton and Matthews" = the UBER left!

tl;dr? He spends a lot of time complaining, and very little time APOLOGIZING here...

BSDNC did NOT suspend Baldwin as a matter of principle. They have proven over and over again that their only "principle" is promoting their extreme left-wing political agenda, and Baldwin certainly did nothing to violate that high and noble purpose.

Trust me, the ONLY reason he was suspended is because advertisers started pulling their spots from his pooty show. They won`t come back, and neither will he.

@WhoDat: They ignored his outburst: except for Fox and Anderson Cooper (as an individual, NOT on his news show AFAIK).

They subsequently did report his suspension. Promptly, even, since it was on the AM show!

Yes, I was mistaken to lump the two together. Happy now?

@panzerlenis: Conservatives are what? WHEN have I even ONCE said they`re "not biased"? OF COURSE THEY ARE!
At least they (mostly) admit it! You`ve never heard Rush Limbaugh PRETEND to be a "centrist" the way Jessie Jackson ("Both Sides Now" = The Left and The Liberal sides!) or others have (falsely) tried to!

But I`m not trying to convince anyone, what a "fools errand" that would be! Over the internets? Doubly so.

Feel free to place "examples of MSM Right-Wing Bias" into the suggestion pool... it`s a "Free IAB" after all!

@5Cats, "You ASSUME I`m TRYING to PROVE something? There`s your first mistake!"

I don`t have to assume anything here. You forget you`ve been arguing your liberal MSM point of view in this thread against others for a bit now. Now you try to pretend you are just "innocently" trying to point out this one little thing, except that`s not what you`re really doing. You are trying to claim the liberals in the media are biased and unfair while conservatives are not (or MUCH less so).

If you honestly believe that, you are delusional.

Hahaha, still can`t admit that you`re wrong, eh?

To sum up this conversation:

You claim that the "MSM ignored Alec Baldwin`s outburst and suspension from MSNBC because he`s a liberal."

I provide links to coverage from EVERY MAJOR NEWS NETWORK that prove your claim is FALSE.

You refuse to admit you`re wrong and come up with a stupid f*cking argument like, "Well someone else said it first and that`s the only reason they said it so I`m still right."

All you have to do is admit you`re wrong (which you are) just once. If you do that and "save face" then I`ll stop f*cking with you.

Anyhow @WhoDat: He still got a literal "slap on the wrist" from MSNBC while others who`ve done FAR LESS got crucified. We can agree on that, yes?

It`s good that the stations you listed DID report it! I`m not saying it`s not, eh? They`ve managed to "save face" here...

@WhoDat: Um, YEAH! 1 or 2 days later, AFTER he got his little suspension. AFTER there was a fuss on other networks about it.
Before that? Ignored.
They ignored the incident (as usual) BUT chose to report the suspension since SOME brave souls actually spoke up about it!

"According to LexisNexis... absolutely no comments about Baldwin in any of the prime time MSNBC transcripts from Thursday evening"
Or any other networks listed, except FOX.

@panzerlenis: You ASSUME I`m TRYING to PROVE something? There`s your first mistake!
I`m simply sharing a story I found interesting: how easily the MSM can "overlook" a story. And what a jerk Alec Baldwin really is.

In this case? The MSM BELATEDLY came out and mentioned it. Good for them, I guess? Better late than never? Yeah.

@5cats, "I`m not `proving` anything! WTF are you talking about? I`m simply showing -yet another- another example of it."

Definition of Prove: demonstrate the truth or existence of (something) by evidence or argument. By "showing another example of it" you are providing "evidence" to support your "argument".

I`ve gotta admit, you impressed me this time. You managed to undermine what you were saying not in the same topic, not in the same post, but in the exact same sentence.

You must get some pretty crazy headaches doing all the mental gymnastics you do...

Everything I listed there is considered "MSM" and they all covered the story of Alec Baldwin shouting gay-slurs and his subsequent suspension from MSNBC.

Your claim that "MOST of the MSM ignored it" is false.

Even Andrew Sullivan Is Angry Now!

But as NewsBusters notes? The Networks spent a lot of time covering Mr. Baldwins` stalker`s trial, yes? But IGNORED his suspension.

Fox mentioned it ;-) And Anderson Cooper did, but NOT CNN News...

@WhoDat: So how did I "lie" about it? MOST of the MSM ignored it. Mr Coopers PERSONAL TWEETS do NOT count as "News Coverage" , correct?
(sarc)
YOU linked FAUX NEWS so you MUST be stupid! Everyone knows they`re just right wing stooges like YOU!!!
(/sarc)

@panzerlenis: I`m SO SORRY if telling the truth offends you!
Oh wait, no I`m not! LOLZ! Byte Me!

I`m not "proving" anything! WTF are you talking about? I`m simply showing -yet another- another example of it.

Hey 5cats, I`m not sure what`s more offensive, Baldwin spouting crap like he did and (in the lamest way possible) trying to deny it, or you gleefully posting it as supposed "ammo" in your war against what you claim is the liberal MSM.

Problem with proving MSM bias is this doesn`t prove it in any way, shape or form. MSNBC is a liberal news channel trying to imitate the financial success of Fox news. As such they are held to the same standards (as opposed to expecting them to be an unbiased news source). So you are claiming liberal bias on a channel (and a show) that was specifically designed to have a liberal bias. They are not going to fire him unless their ad revenue starts suffering. That is no different than how other controversies like this have played out (Dr. Laura, Glen Beck, etc.)

"...but his excuse making and outright LIES are just overlooked... typical!"

No, that wasn`t overlooked at all, are you blind? Can you not read? Look at the Tweets from Anderson Cooper, he specifically called him out saying...

"Wow, Alec Baldwin shows his true colors yet again. How is he going to lie and excuse his anti-gay slurs this time?"

followed by...

"Just read Alec Baldwin`s latest excuses. They are actually so ridiculous they are funny."

But, of course, you refuse to admit that you`re wrong... typical!

@WhoDat (and others) - People have lost their CAREERS for less! And A.Baldwin is a repeat offender, ffs! This "wrist slap" is worse than previous punishments, but is a FAR CRY from what those not in the "Hollywood liberal elite" have gotten, for less.

It is amazing that he got ANYTHING at all! I guess AC Cooper has more pull than imagined :-)

Yes, it`s good that he got SOME negative results from this, but his excuse making and outright LIES are just overlooked... typical!

And had he been a "conservative" like his brother? He`d never work in movies or TV again...

So, how long was Keith Olbermann suspended? I can`t remember. Or is a conservative or something? Or, oh, yeah, what about that Phil Donahue guy? I`m guessing he was an arch conservative? Or something?

I mean, I`m not sticking up for MSNBC. I couldn`t care less about them. But Alec Baldwin as the bastion of liberal darling-ness? Please.

MSNBC Suspends Alec Baldwin`s Show

Anderson Cooper (liberal & gay) tears into Alec Baldwin

So yeah, the "liberal MSM", as you call it, is totally just giving him a "slap on the wrist" eh? I beg to differ, nice try 5Cats but it looks like you failed again. Better luck next time buddy!

Also, they make no mention of a "two week suspension"

@MelCervini: You get it! It`s the "Liberal Golden Rule" at work:

One rule for LIBERALS, another rule for YOU

The difference, for those who don`t `get it` is NOT what Alec said: that`s IMMATERIAL here!
The difference is the way it`s treated my the Liberal MSM Media!

This guy is a repeat offended, but he gets a "slap on the wrist"? While so-called `conservatives` catch HELLFIRE for even NON-OFFENSIVE things! Like "Curaco" or whatever that politician said...
Even the HINT of "un-PC words" is enough to start up the "outrage machine". But NOT for their own kind!

Personally? I don`t honestly care one iota what Mr. Baldwin says. He has every right to cuss-out a pesky paparazzi. But looking at his EXCUSES? That makes him a pathetic tool.

It`s the wide-spread, accepted, double-standard that I object to.
