    Some people just do not want to conform, being a vagabond is in many ways a freedom to them.

    "Since that person took not the slightest notice of Alexander, and continued to enjoy his leisure in the suburb Craneion, Alexander went in person to see him; and he found him lying in the sun. Diogenes raised himself up a little when he saw so many people coming towards him, and fixed his eyes upon Alexander. And when that monarch addressed him with greetings, and asked if he wanted anything, "Yes," said Diogenes, "stand at least out of my sun." It is said that Alexander was so struck by this, and admired so much the haughtiness and grandeur of the man who had nothing but scorn for him, that he said to his followers, who were laughing and jesting about the man as they went away, "But truly, if I were not Alexander, I would be Diogenes."

    This is nothing new: For decades it was illegal to be "destitute" in many places in America. You`d be locked up, fed, then dumped outside of town with orders to not return (or else!).

    Many cities and nations are doing the same: Amsterdam has moved tens of thousands of "squatters" (mostly "Roma" aka Gypsies) to "relocation villages" out in the country. Villages surrounded by barbwire...

    It`s going to get worse! Much worse. And the more "liberal" your State or Nation is? The worse it will get.

    Here in Manitoba (Canada)? Our brutally cold winter does that job for us. Cold forces "the homeless" to move away or take shelter at the various charities around town. No "police round-up" required. Yet.

    Total. Unadulterated. Horses#it.

    And what`s worse, you`ve even allowed a segment from a kook movement publication in the content. An analogous comparison would be allowing a Holocaust denier`s fringy online newspaper into the IAB roundtable.

    I`ve known content has taken a dive for a long time now, but this is a new low. Quit feeding the paranoid rube`s wet dreams.

    QueenZira, are you saying this story isn`t real? The story is real about it being criminal and you will be arrested, look it up. The FEMA camp part is bogus, I think.
    At a time when more people are losing jobs and becoming HOMELESS, this is when they choose to initiate this type of law?
    I`m not a conspiracy theory believer by any means, but look at all of the stuff that`s been happening the last 5 years or so, that we would have laughed at ten years ago if you would have told us they would happen. Some stuff is unbelievably true. How many freedoms do we have to lose before the majority of us pay attention?
    Take away a few freedoms at a time, and people don`t even realize they are losing them.
    Still think we are truly free?

    @QueenZira: It`s a factual story! @djwajda linked to HuffPost! What more do you want? It was a real law, that`s an undisputed fact. If it`s a "FEMA Camp" or just "A Camp" is immaterial.

    This is EXACTLY how ALL your previous "questions" about MY posts have gone!
    -You claim they`re false
    -Myself or others PROVE them to be true
    -You ignore that and either:
    a)change the topic
    b)shout insults

    So which will you do this time? You`ve already tosses insults...

    @5Cats

    The problem is, this was a law passed by the city council in response to business owners complaining about homeless people. They jumped the gun and as the article I linked points out, even law enforcement said `ummmmm..no`.

    But of course the paranoid bloggers of the internet world jumped all over it and cried "fema camp`.

    It was a stupid law yes, but hardly a FEMA concentration camp by any means.

    I don`t know who to believe on this but if this is true, in all the inhuman catastrophic glory that the article shows ... Jesus, wtf?!?

    It`s one thing to have "tent cities" where homeless are offered and even encouraged to go ... it`s quite another to forcibly relocate them behind drating razorwire, ffs.

    @djwajda: The "FEMA" part is just a triviality.

    They really (afaik of course!) planned to put 240 `homeless` folks in a `camp` surrounded by wire, against their will & unable to leave.

    They probably DID have a FEMA "location" in mind, but that doesn`t mean ALL FEMA sites are "detention camps". I do agree on that!

    BUT it`s not an isolated event. It`s not the first and certainly will not be the last time "unwanted" people are put in "re-education facilities" for the "good of society" eh?

    Don`t you just love "euphemisms"? They make the most vile things sound acceptable!

    Putting American Citizens in Concentration Camps... oh sorry: "Relocation Centers"... is "for their own protection".

    @5cats,
    No you don`t weasel your way out of it by saying i attacked your "euphenism"

    We don`t have tens of thousands of roma/gypsies, and they certianly don`t live in camps. well they do, since the dutch word for trailer park contains the term camp. but nothing like wat is mentioned in this article.

    i`ll say it again. check your facts before you cover this site in bullcrap.

    @Mr.Orange:
    #1 I never said they were Dutch Romani, that`s one of the reasons they`re being rounded up! Just like in France: they`re "Foreigners"...
    #2 Wiki Says: 30-40,000 In Netherlands NOT less than 2K. YOU cite YOUR source now, yes? Or STFU.
    #3 The Dutch have a long history of Persecuting Romani or other "Caravan Dwellers".

    Modern Persecution Continues Across Europe with France leading the way.

    @5 ignorant cats

    just becuase there are said amount of romani living in the netherlands doesnt mean they all live the life style now do they?

    http://www.everyculture.com/Europe/Gypsi... rel="nofollow" style="font-weight: bold; color: " target="_blank" href="http://www.everyculture.com/Europe/Gypsies-and-Caravan-Dwellers-in-the-Netherlands-Orientation.html">Same reffernce as you

    You started of by claiming the city of amterdam removed 20K worth of them and relocated them in camops with barbwire.
    if we only have about 20k "woonwagenbewoners: who are not all roma, or sinti your argument loses it`s validity, esp considering.. no gypo or trailer inhabitant is been put into kamps surounded by barb wire, thats the crux of your argument, havent seen one shred of evidence to support that claim. SO stop sprouti

    @Mr.Orange: You`ve made no sense at all.
    The people rounded up were NOT all Dutch citizens: that makes the number of Romani people who ARE Dutch IRRELEVANT.
    I did NOT say they were ALL Romani! If I got the "ethnic mix" of those relocated wrong, does that mean the relocations NEVER HAPPENED?

    Perhaps these "relocation villages" don`t have barbed wire, = trivial detail. They do have fences and the people there are not free to "move away" without permission.

    I tried to find the article but it was from a couple of years ago, sorry.
