I laugh at the idea that science is some abstract thought process that is understood my mysterious, godless people. Things as ridiculous as this seem to be deliberate campaigns of disinformation to weed out the souls who will eat anything fed to them, compared to those souls who put in the time and effort to learn to cook.

See, I can do it, too.

"Bring it forth?"
Only if you know the sacred incantation.
By the way, I know it, and I`m not telling.

It`s almost 2014. Isn`t it time religion died already? We know how stuff works now. We don`t need Gods, fairies, wives-tales and superstition anymore.

@MrPeabody - I don`t understand... I mean.. I flipped through the online book you linked, but I never saw the image of that was in the link, or any of the text.

I am unsure what you are claiming.

i just looked it up and this school actually IS accredited. thats kind of a scary thought. just based on the very limited chemistry that i learned back in high school i could give a better explanation of what electricity is than this text book.

Of course we know where electicity comes from, it all comes from a single electron.

`No one has ever heard it, observed it or felt it.`

The author has never witnessed a thunderstorm or touched a live wire by mistake, then?

After seeing Mr. Peabody`s comments, I`m going to categorize this as possible shenanigans.

It`s not even that they`re avoiding something perceived as non-Christian, it`s that it`s just absurdly ignorant. A simple explanation about flowing electrons would be adequate here, but one doubts the author has a clue.

Well, we don`t really know WHY electromagnetic force exists. That much is true. We don`t really know why gravity does ether.

It is like asking asking why is their life or a universe. There just is and we can form speculations, but it may be something we could never know for sure.

But you sure as hell can feel it...

I don`t see a problem here. After all, SOMEBODY`S gotta clean the toilets and mop up the puke.

I can feel how much it hurt for the author to put "scientists" in there.

Drawman: I think what they`re trying to say here is not that electricity is a fairy tale, but that hel look, you could say all these things about God too, and if electricity is real which it clearly is, then...!

Still dumb, don`t get me wrong. Because we DO know what electricity is and where it comes from.

If you don`t know what electricity is then you probably dropped out of grade school to pursue a career are a burger flipper.

Funny that if you remind them no one has ever seen or felt God either, the argument doesn`t work then.

I live in the Greenville SC area where the school is. My slogan for them is " Raising good little Nazi`s for Christ". They teach a very scary theology.

Oh yeah? Well I once read an excerpt from a textbook stating that scientists still can`t figure out how profound nonsense is produced, where it comes from, or what it`s purpose is even though there seems to be a limitless ambient supply!

Before we laugh at their ignorance, let`s be clear about what we`re missing. When you see lightning, you`re not seeing electricity. You`re seeing air that has been heated by electricity.

Some Christian once started telling me about the mysteries of the universe while out surfing. You know, things like why science can`t fix the "common" cold (as if it`s been only one virus the entire time), or the "presence" of angels around him. -_____-

VV Tons of pages to be viewed there @Mr.Peabody! But this picture might be from a much older edition. There also seem to be many `variations` of the title as well.

It`s still pretty funny, especially with the whole page (like my link) which includes a Bible Verse...

Never seen lightning, eh?
Or static? Christians do own cats, don`t they?

(Cat fur is one of the best producers of static electricity - little known fact!)

It`s a "fundamental force" like magnetism or gravity: it just IS!

Try: tinfoil across the silver fillings in your teeth...

I failed to find the book online, but it does seem like a genuine page... A Linky for what it`s worth.

A guy I was on a job with a few years ago felt it, and we all heard it, when he drove a ground rod into a buried primary that wasn`t properly marked out.

Surely this is not legal. I home schooled no2 son in the UK for a while- and was checked and inspected to ensure he got an education- a proper one.

No one has ever felt it. Stick this paper clip in that electric socket and tell me that again.
