I don`t think seeing things like this is harmful. My earliest memory of slowly realizing the world isn`t all smurfs and construction trucks was seeing a deer get taken down by a lion on the PBS channel. It was pretty traumatic at the time but a healthy/natural intro in my opinion.

I swear those dogs were looking at the warthog get taken and it looked like they were all thinking "F U C K , did you all see that?"

Sad but it`s the circle of life. I think the hog chose the right option. African wild dogs eat their prey alive starting with the stomach. Slow and very painful death.

I know it`s pedantic (I can`t help myself), but they`re African wild dogs.

As natural as the sun coming up every morning. The fact that someone was there to video it is inconsequential. Those who don`t want to watch it, don`t have to.

Personally I think there`s something seriously wrong with anyone how enjoys viewing videos such as this one. Eating meat, hunting, etc... fine. But to want to watch an animal die as a form of entertainment tells me that the person is sick.

What I find amazing is that I didn`t even see the croc (which was visible since about 0:08) until it attacked.

You could just as well have said `Between a croc and an ardvaark place.` Because they were no more ardvaarks than they were hyenas. But it would have sounded better.

On the other hand, both wild dogs and hyenas are predators, whereas ardvaark never hurt anyone.

Pigs of all sorts are great. Intelligent and social animals that are also highly effective omnivorous foragers that can turn almost any viable foodstuff into tasty, tasty protein.

If they are intelligent enough to have self-awareness that latter point might account for their occassional grumpiness.

Probably a bad call. Warthogs are very formidable in a scrap on land. There was a fighting chamce against the dogs, who were very wary and none of whom wanted to be the first to try it on.

Against the croc, there was no chance.

Not hyenas, perhaps jackals or wild dogs.

Life Lesson - in order to eat something has to die. Pig or Plant, something`s gonna die.

I think I would have taken my chances with a pack of dogs as soon as a "log" just happened to drift up beside me...

Wild dogs or hyenas, this video is pretty much the definition of between a rock and a hard place!
