I think everyone is skinny since this is before the latter fat free craze in late 90s. When foods are processed to be fat free, the fat content is removed and the food becomes very tasteless so salt and sugar was added to fat-free foods. This sort of food breaks in the body similar to alcohol, hence todays massive bloat.
NAH! Way off it was cocaine! Mulletts derive their power from cocaine!!

Leave it to a Eurotwat to drag weight into this...

Wow if you look everyone is engaged in a conversation or walking and looking around. No one is staring at or talking on their dumb smartphones while oblivious to the world. I bet if you take these photos now you will see the opposite.

I used to think when I watched waynes world and bill and ted that the way the people looked were just exaggerated and over the top, but apparently not. Lol

Yeah, 89 was still before mainstream cell phones. Early to mid-90s everyone carried pagers. Only professionals had cells. My first phone was in 94 and it was as big as a brick.

Acid wash ... ah, those were the days.

Their photos, dated, nothing particularly artistic ... except the one with the benches back to back with the young couple on one side and the old couple on the other ... I like that. :)

No- mobiles were around in 1989. Tended to be expensive and heavy- so only used by very important business types to show the rest of us slackers how terribly important they were. My ex had one!

Heard an interview with the author this morning on Chicago radio. He received a letter from a guy whose dad is in a picture in this book . His father just passed away and the guy was emotionally touched by the chances of seeing his dead father in print.

Poofy hair? Running shoes? Smoking in public?
It`s like an acid flashback! lolz!

Pic #21: Yellow shirt man & 3 ladies: That`s my favorite! Granny is trying to `cop a feel` and the lady on the right is visibly drooling... :-)

yet in every picture there are people dressed just as they would today- that odd not-fashion dowdy that is always the same.

No joke Gerry, I thought something was wrong with all these pics, thanks for pointing that out. Sorta bummed though I didn`t see one Zac Morris sized phone, guess it was still too early.

The really odd looking thing is people are talking to one another instead of having their heads buried in cell phones.
