Surely the I-A-B Army can assist with an accurate description. I am at a total loss.

Stormith-"If we start teaching people from a young age about sexual violence and how wrong "

We already do that, along with `Murder is wrong`, `Stealing is wrong`, etc. Feminism has nothing to do with it.

Stormith-"This is the kind of stuff that feminism seeks to erase"

Past practices seem to demonstrat taht feminism is more concerned with calling that plate in the road a `Person-hole cover` and telling women why men are the cause of all their woes.

Feminism CAN change this though. If we start teaching people from a young age about sexual violence and how wrong it is then maybe we can change the minds of boys. Rape is so excusable in America`s rape culture because the men think that they have an innate right to control women. This is the kind of stuff that feminism seeks to erase, the idea that one sex is allowed to control and demean the other. If children are raised in a more neutral environment(rather than the "two cultures" model, meaning boys are raised to be competitive and girls are raised to be cooperative), then maybe there can be a chance to even the gender disparity and hopefully less rapes would be committed.
Though I think a lot of it also has to do with the glorification of partying so hard that you don`t know what`s going on, and the glorification of underage drinking and drug use

i love your ideals i do, and i think you are right. however, having walked a strange drunk (crying)girl home once only to get into an argument with her boyfriend becuase he thought i was trying to take advantage of her (i can`t stand sex with drunk girls, uggh) did kinda fix me of that gentlemanish behaviour.

lauriloo-"If the guy KNOWS the girl wants to be "taken" because they discussed it, it`s more being "ravished" than being "raped". "

Thus the importance of a Safe Word. (Our`s was `Precipice`)

And it`s also important to put some forthought into your Safe Word:

I would say she has her head in the clouds. If a girl wears slutty clothes, it makes her more likely to be the target of sexual violence. Feminism isn`t going to solve this in any way. As a society we need to look out for each other a bit more, not be afraid to help a drunk girl get home even though she is a stranger, or even tell a friend or family member that what she is wearing is inappropriate. Common decency is all it takes.

I have no problem with a violent sexual predator going to prison and developing a committed long-term relationship with Mr. Broomhandle.

Umm, not to worry about that love, noone has any misconceptions here. Especially since the Discernible part of the anatomy has been forgone so long that when that corset was tightened the resulting queef could only be heard by dogs.

If I met this person carrying this sign? I`d say:

"Dude! Does your mother know you`re borrowing her corset?"

Well, if I had enough time to think of something clever to say...

He needs feminism so guys can wear girls clothing? (sure girls clothing is all relative since heels and skirts were initially for men)

If the guy KNOWS the girl wants to be "taken" because they discussed it, it`s more being "ravished" than being "raped". Definitely a difference. It`s weird that "ravish" in the dictionary I looked in has both "fill someone with joy" and "to rape someone" as definitions. Context is key in this case and you better be damn sure you know what your partner is wanting.

Well I, for one, am glad she is holding this sign. It will save me the trouble of telling her that A) i do not want to rape or have consensual sex wit you because B) you look like an ugly dude.

emmettyville-"is raping anything ever ok?"
"Never."

I was going to say never as well, but then a few names flashed through my head which made me think.. maybe as a form of corpal punishment? (say like, Her Fritzl, that dude that had the three women in his house for ten years, priest who can`t keep their hands of kids etc etc) it did bring up a whole can of ethical questions, and i havent decided yet. But it is public secret that the american prison system does use it as a "deterrent" right?

OK: Get it straight:

It`s "IAB Army"

Made up of the:
IAB Liberal Brigade
IAB Conservative Corps
Legion(s) of Non-Commenters

Ok? ;-)

Anyhow: Even if one wears attractive S&M Gear? I still wouldn`t touch > THAT < disregardless of it`s gender...
Mostly because of the sign...

@Jake_Justice is correct: It`s... Pat!

Geogypsy,
`...some sort of advocacy for cross dressing boys who are tired of being sexually objectified for their choice in attire?`

That`s probably the most plausible explanation. And fair enough. People who are trans or gender-ambiguous tend to get if from both sides. The usual unreflective bigots but also a significant section of rad-fems have a lot of articulated hate for transexuals.

I have actually no idea what he or she is about, but fair play to him or her.

Not sure what point is being made here.

But if we are still at the point where `Feminism = ugly chicks hurhurhur.` then we have a long way to go.

Undeniable Truth of Life #24: Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.

So yeah, I think this lovely lady does still need Feminism after all!

Umm...*opens mouth to take a breath so as to speak*...*closes mouth*...What? I don`t understand.

Is this some sort of advocacy for cross dressing boys who are tired of being sexually objectified for their choice in attire? Is that...is that what the sign is trying to say??

If you ask to be raped then isn`t it consensual and, therefore, not rape? Also, what does feminism have to do with the potential for incorrect gender identification based on the clothing one is wearing?
Aside from that, I agree.
