Shocking... Christians acting like a$$holes and using their religion as an excuse. People like that make me sick.

There is one important piece of information missing: How did the hateful customer know the waiter was gay in the first place?

@WhoDat: You`ve swallowed the kool-aide, eh? That explains your recent behaviour...

MANY of these things have proven to be UTTER FAKES! The `wronged waiters` cash in big time, it`s just a modern money-grab. Notice how much money he`s getting out of this? THAT is the real bottom line.

I just don`t believe these "wolf-criers" anymore. But they`re still ca$$hing in! Expect more of the same...

@LandoGriffin They probably assumed and just happened to be right. He may have been effeminate.

If you don`t want to leave a tip that is your choice but there is no reason to get on a podium as to why you are a cheap and mean person.

@5Cats Considering he (and his mother) refused to give a statement and show their face I doubt they are money-grabbers. I live smack dab in the middle of the Bible belt and guess what....MANY (but not all) Christians are total arseholes.

@5Cats - I don`t drink Kool-Aid, and religious people acting like a$$holes then using their religion as an excuse is something I constantly talk about. I`m an atheist, remember? Stop with the personal attacks that you constantly accuse others of doing to you, hypocrite.

    P.S. Go f*ck yourself.

McThstlpnts: I`ll never believe a damn thing posted on HuffPo. Too many times the sh|t posted there has turned out to be fake, distorted, or just outright lies.

"MANY (but not all) Christians are total arseholes."

Bullsh|t. The people I`ve found to be assh*les are the ones with liberal bumper stickers covering the whole rear end of their cars. They drive like idiots, overuse their horns and are the first to stick their middle finger out their windows.

Many Christians can in fact be as*holes, for example those who object to evolution and want creationism to be taught in science class, those who believe that homosexuality is morally wrong and there`s the folks that think the world really is just a few thousand years old. There are plenty of as*holes though, in all walks of life, best not to generalize.

    5Cats,

`MANY of these things have proven to be UTTER FAKES!`

Had you noticed that the more people use upper case in an assertion the less likely they are to provide sources?

    CJ,

`I`ll never believe a damn thing posted on HuffPo.`

No, I wouldn`t either. Their science coverage is abysmal. Almost as bad as the Telegraph`s.

@McThstlpnts: It says right in the video that he`s getting TONS of cash from this... no doubt there`s various `funds` being set up as well.
I`m not saying people shouldn`t, I am suggesting they wait until it`s investigated a little.

I repeat: MANY of these things have been proven false.

@WhoDta: You have one rule for one `group` and separate rules for others? That`s fine... for you. Some of us believe we should all be treated equally...

FACT: Every group you can name (of more than 100 or so people) has both good AND bad aspects. Everyone`s an a$$hole eventually...

@LordJim: IAB Lacks proper italics, bold OR underline... CAPS IS ALL I HAVE TO WORK WITH to emphasise a part of a point. ;-)

Not likely. If the individuals are as*holes, they are not Christian. Kinda like being an honest liar. Can`t be both.

"You have one rule for one `group` and separate rules for others?"

Christians, and any other religious people, who use their religion as an excuse for bigotry are a$$holes, plain & simple. If they`re religious, keep their beliefs to themselves, and don`t use them as an excuse for bigotry they`re not a$$holes. Any double standard you`re hinting at is nonexistent. Try again.

@Lando - Seriously? I`m not gay but I can still pick out a gay man 9 times out of 10. That pastor was clearly gay or couldn`t you tell? Being religious and gay is an oxymoron anyway so who is he kidding? Leviticus 18:22 - "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination."

@Drawman - Saying you can`t be gay and Christian, because being gay is a sin, is tantamount to saying you can`t be human and Christian.

    Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Even if you believe being gay is a sin, the fact of the matter is that any sin damns you to the pits of hell, lest ye repent and beg God`s mercy. And yet we all sin EVERY SINGLE DAY. Why do you assume that being Gay is a greater sin than any of the little "white lies" you tell yourself and others every day?

Can you name a day you didn`t sin? Can anyone? If you think you can, you may want to reread your bible. If no one can, then why persist on insisting that the gays are `living in sin` when it`s quite clear that we all do?

Being religious and gay is an oxymoron anyway so who is he kidding? Leviticus 18:22

Do you want to argue about this subject? You`re at a huge disadvantage because you know nothing about what was actually written in your bible (major clue - it wasn`t in modern English) and you won`t be consistent with yourself because you will be ignoring most of it.

Do you know, for example, that cheeseburgers (to use a common food item - there are thousands of others) are to`ebah according to Jews?

Do you know what the relevance of that is? I bet you don`t without looking it up, but it`s crucial to the argument.

I can do chapter and verse and construct a valid theological argument that allows a Christian to interpret their bible as allowing homosexuality and homosexual sex. It`s not hard - there are only a handful of verses used against homosexuality and none of them are clear in the original text.

I think I`ll pick out one example, because many people are completely unaware how flimsy the biblical support for religiously motivated condemnation of homosexual sex is (and the support for condemnation of homosexuality is even flimsier).

So I`ll go with the text that forms the basis of 2 of the 3 new testament (i.e. Christian) verses that are claimed to condemn homosexuality.

    Yes, there are only 3.

Of course, if you`re looking for a Christian view on anything, the highest importance should be attached to the teachings of Jesus. Which don`t condemn homosexuality or homosex at all.

But back to those verses. They`re a list of people who won`t go to heaven, including homosexuals...but only in some "translations" into English. The word is arsenokoitai (transliterated Greek) and *nobody knows what it means*.

They`re just making it up to fake biblical condemnation of homosexuality. Seriously, it`s just made up. Check for yourselv

And yes, if anyone cares to argue I can show valid alternative interpretations for the rest of the handful of verses, including the notorious Leviticus 18:22. Although the best answer to that one is almost always that the person quoting it doesn`t believe their own argument. If they did, they`d be obeying the hundreds of other OT orders as well, and they won`t be. Randomly and/or ignorantly picking out some verses to obey while disobeying others is normal behaviour, but it`s obviously wrong even if you consider only religion and completely ignore morality and rationality.
