@RobSwindol

Hands Down? I`d like to point out songs like the above "Sweet Jane" and "Heroine", which are much better than the pop hit of "Walk on the Wild Side"

He knew he wasnt as musically talented as some of his counterparts of the era, but people will always remember him.

I am a male in my mid 30`s and to be honest, it was a blow to hear that he died. Mostly because I know that if he didn`t exist, most of the music I listen to today wouldn`t either. You have to take the hole of the artist, not just parts.

He was an amazing artist and will be missed by many, imho.

@RobSwindol: I think that`s the whole point! He wasn`t brimming with "God Given Talent" he WORKED HARD! He made 40+ records and appeared in 10 movies over a 40+ YEAR CAREER.

He gets amazing points for longevity!

He made other artists better through his influence, FEW celebrities can claim that.

You may not think he is impressive but he was influential to many. Satellite of Love remains my favorite.

Rob, get your facts straight. Lou Reed wrote "Walk on the Wild Side." Bowie produced it.

Didn`t know him or much care about his music after listening to the few songs I did on Youtube. Not an impressive singer nor guitar player. But every death should have a time for mourning and remembrance. RIP

He wasn`t a very good guitarist. Nor was a very good at singing or songwriting.

His best song, hands down, was "Walk One The Wild Side", and David Bowie had to write that one for him.
