    I just created this account to say the following...This is probably the worst analogy that I have ever seen. I doubt any liberal could scrape up the two cents to ACCURATELY liken this to the current situation. The democrats could end the shut down just as easily as the republicans...the bill is already in front of them. Harry Reid could allow the vote to pass a CR (which CR`s are bullpoo lazy government already) to end the shut down and then negotiate obummercare. He refuses to accept any negotiation which puts this on his shoulders as much as anyone`s. When is the last time the democratic senate passed a budget without a CR? hmmm at least four years ago. Do any of you know how many years the government passed appropriation bills for individual programs and not one huge omnibus bill at all once? Hint: historically the individual bill appropriations was much longer than the current standard...and on another important note why all the double letters lately in post descriptions?

    @IPSIBilly:
    No.

    The GOP initiated this shutdown. It`s their fault. By your logic if someone gets rear ended you would say "Well that person shouldn`t have been driving their car that day" or if someone gets raped "Well they shouldn`t have been on that street that day".

    Aren`t the conservatives the first to tout personal responsibility? Or does that only deal with other people?

    I love how the Tea Part hates tyranny unless they do it themselves.

    The dodgers could end the shut down just as easily as the braves...the compromise is already in front of them. Bud Selig could allow the vote to end the shut down and then negotiate the playoff result. He refuses to accept any negotiation which puts this on his shoulders as much as anyone`s.

    Leave it to a liberal to suck at trying to make a point by using a sports example.

    Funniest part of this is if the roles were reversed (repub prez /w Dems shutting things down), everyone`s reaction to this would be reversed.

    Its a good call out for how much BS is behind political talking points. Liberal and conservative.

    PISIBilly, do you understand that the ACA is a three year old law? What are the Republicans gong to do next, ask to reverse Clinton laws? Give me a break. If they want to change a law, all they need do is go through committee, rewrite the parts the don`t like, get the votes and do it. But holding the government and debt ceiling hostage over something they lost three years ago, something that`s already a law? To pretend that the Democrats have ANY fault in this is ignorant, backwards and wrong-headed.

    But, hey, please do keep on preaching how making abortion illegal, how being anti-gay, anti-healthcare, anti-equal voting rights is a good thing and how that`s what the Tea Party and Republicans believe in. Please do!
