Really nice video, especially at 1:28. I know from experience how careful, intuitive and protective dogs can be around family members with handicaps/impairments.

We used to have a big shepherd mix dog. We gave him a big bone and let him out in the front yard. He was lying in the grass gnawing on the bone when the next-door neighbor girl, who was about this kid`s age and also had Down Syndrome, came over and took his bone away and hid it behind her back. The dog thought it was a game. He followed her around the yard, and when she fell down (she did that a lot, but we had a really thick bluegrass lawn), he rolled her over with his nose and took his bone back. Then he moved about 5 feet away and went back to chewing on it till she got up and took it away again. This was repeated several times.

The dog never did a thing to hurt her; he never even growled. If anyone else had tried that, though, he would have taken their arm off.

I saw this on here when I was 15 years old. I`m 57 now. At Least that`s what it feels like. Are we fools IAB or do you have a really short memory of what goes on?

Kid looks like he smoked a joint and did shrooms. Probably thinks the dog is a potato and is wondering how its moving and trying to snuggle with him.

Okay, first the out of tune mommy with the four little boys, and now this autistic down syndrome boy with his wonderful dog? And on this day, the Grinchess`s heart grew three sizes. Stop, already!

We had a dog once who had issues. I honestly believe he was born with brain damage. He`d try and bite anyone outside of our family, and we had to keep him locked in a bedroom whenever we had company.

One day while babysitting a close family friend`s toddler with down syndrome, my mother hadn`t closed the door to the room where the dog was properly. The little guy was asleep in another room in a playpen.

I went in to check on the little guy and found our dog, the biting machine, in the playpen lying down next to the toddler and giving him the odd lick on the cheek. From then on, every time we babysat the toddler, our dog would stay by his side, and patiently allowing his hair to be pulled, his toys taken away, and having a toddler lay across his body. (always supervised btw.) It was the wildest thing.

Aw. Dogs truly are man`s best friend. The dog knows something about the boy. Dogs, as we all know, are very intuitive sometimes.
