    drawman, could you please start capitalizing all the first letters of all the words in your titles? It helps with errors on the front page.

    I wrote you an email about it but you must not have gotten it. I like your submissions and it makes it easier to put them up when there are no errors in the titles and such.

    Thanks!

    Nice, the last one would`ve saved me from a nasty bruise on my hand or worse.

    Patchouly I imagine to have a round outlet you`d need a central plug for the hot with the neutral around the perimeter. It would be a pain in the ass to switch all of your outlets and then get adapters for everything (or wait for the manufacturers to start making them that way).

    My waterproof keyboard was pretty much a must when I lived with drunkards and small children.

    "How do you have a round outlet?"
    When the standards were being solicited from companies in the US, there were many different ideas about what the outlet should look like.

    If you`ve ever seen the standard three-pronged XLR microphone out with spring cover:

    I think that was originally HP`s submission.

    I also think Westinghouse`s submission looked nearly identical to the listed mockup.

    I believe the North American standard outlet was GE`s submission.

    Most of these ideas are pretty pointless, a few good ones though.

    Your flash drives could display the files they contain - Hahaha no. I don`t want that.

    Your toilet could have a sink on the cistern.
    You`d have to remember to put the lid down when you wanted to piss in the sink.

    @CodeJockey,
    I`m very familiar with XLRs, but they are nothing like the picture. In the picture, there is a ring and that`s it. No holes, no perimeter contacts, just a ring.

    @paperduck,
    That`s what I was thinking. Have the ring be hot and the perimeter contacts be ground. However, there are no perimeter contacts in the image. Just the ring. Plus, most places have an extra ground now. How would they add that?

    I did not know that the top of the back of a toilet was called a cistern.

    Patch, I can think of a couple-o-twenty ways to make that work. Just off the top, it can be inductive(long and not grounded.)
    Next, if the prongs are stepped in length, they can hit the conductors as channels: The shortest hits the ground, the second, N and the longest, L.

    I just don`t see a POINT in making it round. Wire is flexible.

    The round outlets. Yes. It sucks when you have an outlet that you can barely reach or you can barely see (without a flashlight) and then you need to somehow feel when the plug will fit and whether or not you have it upside down. I shouldn`t need to be a freaking jedi. D:<

    The waterproof keyboard is also pretty awesome. I spilled something on mine the other day and freaked. Thank goodness it was okay. Lol.
