    I could have guessed who submitted this. An op-ed is not science. Plus, it`s odd that the author quotes Svensmark - whos research has been thoroughly debunked.

    How come you can`t actually post SCIENCE to back up your claims 5cats? How come instead you post an op-ed from someone trying to spin things into his own opinion?

    Also, this is the SAME guy who lied in an op-ed not two weeks ago that the earth was cooling over the past 16 years:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/larrybell/2013/10/08/will-cooling-temperature-and-economic-climates-finally-take-the-wind-out-of-failed-energy-policies/

    Somehow I doubt the veracity of his claims if he can`t even get that right.

    People just wont let go of the fact that global warming is not real. The earth is cyclical in nature. There are "warming periods" that lead to "cooling periods." 29-30% of the earth is covered in land and we don`t inhabit all of that 29-30%. How much more damaging do you really think we are making the already autonomous cycle of earth? Think for yourselves, it`s okay.

    @XPrez:
    Just because nature does something doesn`t mean man can`t do it also. That`s a fallacy. Yes there are natural cycles, and guess what, climatologists are very much aware of them. Man can also change climate as well. There are 7 billion of us, we are making some impact.

    Climate changes... that`s a constant. So what? Improvise, adapt, overcome. Go buy some land on top of a mountain in Alaska. Think it`s caused by humans? Do the Earth a favor and stick the barrel of a shotgun in your mouth and pull the f*ckin` trigger if you`re that concerned about it.

    Jesus, green this and energy star that... Do you drive a hybrid? What`s your carbon footprint? Boo hoo, coal is evil... Government subsidized ethanol makes for sh*tty gasoline... Do you have re-usable bags for grocery shopping? Incandescent light bulbs? Are you kidding Me? UP AGAINST THE WALL!

    It`s a goddamn agenda, people.

    "No best estimate for equilibrium climate sensitivity can now be given because of a lack of agreement on values across assessed lines of evidence and studies."
    There`s your "consensus" right there.

    This is just more proof that AGW is a hoax so that liberals can boss us around and take our stuff.

    You know what the IPCC Report says?

    The oceans are soaking up the warming. But we cannot measure it, because it`s way down deep.

    Honestly! HEAT SINKS in the oceans, you knew that, right?
    And the parts of the ocean we DO measure? NO WARMING there!

    It`s as if they`re desperate or something... with 10 - 15 more years of "coolness" coming...

    @mesovortex: I direct your attention to the:
    Leftist Internet Arguement Checklist
    You`ve got 5-6 already!

    "There are 7 billion of us, we are making some impact."

    LOLZ! The "Solar Variance" accounts for MORE climate change than ALL LIFE FORMS ON EARTH!
    In terms of biomass? We humans don`t even crack the "Top 100".

    Go on! Tell me how humans caused the Ice Ages!

    mesovortex: "Just because nature does something doesn`t mean man can`t do it also."

    Man can`t create tornadoes, hurricanes, tidal waves, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, blizzards, sandstorms or a myriad of other weather phenomena. (at least mot without using nuclear weapons)

    Nature has been regulating itself, we have little if any effect on global weather. Compared to what natural disasters can do, we are weaklings. It`s hubris to believe that we are even as powerful as the termites and ants on this planet.

    Termites emit ten times the amount of CO2 than we do. Ants have a combined weight more than all the humans on earth (1/10 of the total world animal tissue) and they eat more biomass than we do as well.

    @5cats:
    So in other words since the Mississippi River changed it`s course naturally over many years, man cannot change it`s course today - except for the fact that we do.

    Again, natural cycles can occur without man`s influence. Nobody says they can`t. But climate can change with mans influence as well.

    Also, your silly link - seriously? You`re going to put the blame on liberals now? What about googling your information or looking things up - which you don`t bother to do.

    @CrakrJak:
    You are pointing to extremes instead of long term trends. Extremes like that usually don`t buckle a long term trend except if it is a massive extreme over a long period of time. Smaller things added up over time can lead to bigger things.

    LEAST Extreme Weather In The USA for 100 Years

    FACTS! Learn to deal with them.

    @CrakrJak: Even with nuclear bombs? I don`t think humans could make a single thing you listed! :-)

    @mesovortex: You seem FIXATED on changing the course of a river: IT`S CHILD`S PLAY! Beavers can do it! FFS! Hercules did it IN ONE DAY!

    8 years without a major hurricane in the USA?
    15 years of "flat" temperatures WORLD WIDE?
    Just how long does it take?
    And why do AGW supporters WET THEIR PANITES over ONE HOT YEAR?

    "More science denialism."

    I know @SmagBoy1! It seems @mesovortex just hates scientific facts!! :-)

    Nice of you to link climatedepot, a known Exxon funded think-tank. Which you would have known if you actually looked into your own claims. Can`t see any conflict of interest here no sir!

    So much easier than dealing with facts, eh?

    #1 Nifty name!
    #2 Are you really that old?
    #3 The facts remain correct disregardless of who presents them.
    #4 Welcome to IAB!

    The oceans of the Earth are NOT "hiding heat deep down" OK? THAT is a key point in the latest IPCC report...

    5Cats: "Even with nuclear bombs?"

    A global thermonuclear exchange would definitely have an undesirable effect, it would likely kill us all as well as most of the wildlife. But the earth would recover from it eventually, with or without us.
