Oh Good God; quoting the Mail! Truly desperate now! 55555

With current approval at around 75 % leaves 25 % disapproving, Big whoop. Ratings been going up and down since the 17th century at least.

But as usual you`re missing the point entirely. I could not care less one way or another. It only requires a single referendum and one Act of Parliament to abolish the institution entirely and I`d quite like to see what happens.

It`s an issue that the Australians have been contemplating for quite a while but as they are already a federal system it would be easier for them than for the Brits.

No, I just like ragging on you when you get things wrong. I`m amazed I don`t jump in more often but your education was clearly not the best and your relentless bigotry might well result from circumstances beyond your control.

More to pitied than scorned, really.

BTW the queen gave herself rise from £36.1million to £37.9million for 2014. The Queen`s income is linked to profits of Crown Estate. Yep no playing with numbers there it`s making you money......sure.

Nice try dancing around how pointless and disgusting the royals are there. They do nothing and get treated special for it with your money and the government you want me to study supports them.
As for the grammar nazi jibe - shouting? Really? If you can`t spell, you can`t speak the language properly. And if you can`t speak it properly you can`t think in the language properly. As you demonstrate with pretty well every comment you post.
So now you can hear text and think it`s speaking and want to consider me stupid LOL! You`re correcting grammar on an internet forum where no on cares but pathetic people like you. Which is how the term grammar Nazi came to be and why it is so popular.
BTW, care to let us know YOUR score in the citizenship test? I mean the first time you tried it!
I didn`t take it 100 question isn`t a very good cure for boredom. I`ve had my fill of tests in public school and college.

Wow, McG. I`m really getting to you now, eh?

I have not once expressed a personal view on the way the Brits organise their constitutional affairs; simply pointed out the many, many ways you misrepresent the issues.

If you bothered to educate yourself (perhaps look at the British Republican websites for instance) you might - I say might - be able to make a case. But that would require a level of Smart you haven`t yet achieved.

Unfortunately your irrational dislike for Europeans in general and the UK in particular gets in the way of some points of view which might have merit if presented dispassionately.

As for the grammar nazi jibe - shouting? Really? If you can`t spell, you can`t speak the language properly. And if you can`t speak it properly you can`t think in the language properly. As you demonstrate with pretty well every comment you post.

If you could remove your mouth from the royal ass and loose the brainwashing. You might be able to see how disgusting and dated the concept is to the majority of people the common man. Hell there`s even a ton of people in the UK who say the same but stay a good little pleb and ignore reality.

Not dumb enough to defend a royal family that`s had everything handed to them by lemmings like you.

Ya they just got the most desirable position and wasted real troops time by having to protect high value target in the name of PR.

Times how many payers? Ya they look like they need it bad. If it not a big deal why not a McGovern tax for only 23p a year? IT`S A DEAL! I`ll wave half assed out in public and act above for less than half price!

Which is how they gave themselves a raise, medals for nothing and their kid a position in the military he normally would have never gotten amongst other things. For something powerless they sure seem to have some power.

@McGovern1981

If you want to be bitter about rich people getting everything handed to them on a plate, there are FAR bigger targets than the British Royal family.

And what`s with this "pleb" business? We`ve had democracy for longer than your country existed, bub. Also note, that our head of state is a powerless figurehead, whilst yours is often considered the most powerful person in the world.

So who`s really living under the power of a monarch, hmm? ;)

By all my taxes, you mean 57p per year?

If I was going to go all class warfare, there are far greater injustices than a rich family costing me 57p per year.

Why do you have such a bug up your butt about the British Royals?

Yes pleb keep giving the people who are treated as your superiors and handed everything in life for nothing at all your taxes cause they`ve made you belive they`re what makes tourist money. It couldn`t be the actual things tourists get to see. Should we even get into the millions that family killed to get and keep the power they say "God" gave them. Then you go on about how you`re all so smart and non religious ROFL!! WHEW!

@philbadley

Wikipedia tells me they cost £36.1 million a year. That`s 57p per person in the UK.

Tell me your paypal address and I`ll send you 57p and then you`ll have nothing to complain about for a year.

96%

Of the 4 I got wrong, one was poorly worded (the one Kangoala mentioned). The other three I missed because of historical details (e.g. "The year the Constitution was signed" and the available answers are all within a few years of the real date).

I am surprised anyone with a college degree and who pays attention to our government would get less than 80%, or even 90%. In most cases, even if you didn`t know the answer, you could usually guess from the wording of the question and options given.

Most of this crap is learned in jr high civics..I got bored very quickly answering these questions, I answered 40 of them and got em right. Sorry, but my attention got averted to cat videos..I have already taken my state government, federal government and flag tests back in high high school..which are all required to be passed before you can even graduate high school ( it was required in our high school anyway)..Even if a student drops out, they are still required to pass these tests before recieving a G.E.D..The test above had very similar questions to our high school tests..."so meh"

I don`t know what a test is supposed to do... envoke a new sense of nationalism in the tested? There must be a reason considering Blighty has adopted a test in order to become a subject (which I`ll point out, I failed and I`m as British as they come)
