At least get the description right. He shoved her in the cell, she tripped/stumbled and fell forward onto the bench.

Sure, he shouldnt have pushed her like that, but it can still be considered an accident.

Never thought I`d say this, but...

    I agree with tedgp.

The infliction of injury was not intentional, rather, a horrible accident. If she had died, hypothetically, it would be manslaughter, not murder, as he didn`t mean for that to happen.

Let me be absolutely clear, though. He is still guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm. That is still a felony offense even if it was accidental.

That was absolutely unnecessary for that cop to aggressively shove an individual like that while inside a cell, which lead to sudden, unexpected loss of balance - thereby causing the fall.

What was the point in shoving a suspect like that when a suspect has already been apphrended and is inside a cell box? Is the cop such a loser that he can`t tell when enough justice has been administered?

Any follow up story? Any lawsuit?

I don`t believe you`ll find any this time. This was absolutely uncalled for and undefendable.

    Unintended consequence of unnecessary force.
Law enforcement has always attracted the power trippers. The sad part is absolutely nothing was done to reprimand the officer responsible.

That is utter disgraceful. the cop needs to be jailed for unprovoked assault.
I know there are bad cops everywhere - Europe is no exception but there does seem to be an overwhelming amount of police brutality coming out of the USA these days. Is it as bad as it is being portrayed or is it just biased anti police reporting?

Eh He pushed her, If anyone who has ever pushed somebody should be found guilty of aggravated battery then the prisons would be a lot more crowded. I`ve pushed people before just as hard sometimes in frustration sometimes just playing around. The result obviously is awful but it was an accident and unintended.

It country with over 300 million people and police getting videoed almost constantly. If you do that anywhere you`ll find these things popping up it`s playing the odds.

They can share a jail cell. One for drunk driving and one for simple assault. As she got out of jail for the drink driving and now suing, the sentence of assault would also be done. Then the taxpayers of the little village can then pay her.

A cop or any civil servant has a duty of care to people under their jurisdiction.
They have been trained in dealing with difficult people in a restrained, competent manner.
Are you seriously arguing that he shouldn`t be prosecuted because he probably didn`t mean it?

I`m torn on this one. The office obviously used more force than needed but I don`t believe it was intentional. Should the office be reprimanded, yes. Charged with some sort of crime, not sure. The inmate should have stayed put unless instructed otherwise. the clip only shows the climax, not the build up.
I have no problem calling for not nice police to commit suicide or be put down like rabid dogs by their chief when warranted but I don`t think this incident falls in that category.

I feel that he probably did not realize how hard he had pushed her, he`s probably used to burly or uncontrollable prisoners, not frail, waifish women. He is still in the wrong, he did this to her. If someone accidentally hits someone with their car, they`re still responsible even if it was unintentional. This is the same situation, that cop should probably be relocated to a new facility/job entirely. Some people just should not be given that much direct power over people.
And, I`ll be that guy, we have to consider sexism. This could potentially, if we knew more about the situation but not really based on this video alone, be considered a hate crime against women. Not saying that he hates women, but it could be construed that he may abuse power over women. There`s no way that little woman could possibly hurt him, so why did he feel compelled to throw her with such force?

@McGovern There are just as many cameras in most populated places in Europe. The cameras in cars are VERY popular in Europe (insurance fraud prevention).

This is part of the symptoms of privatized prison systems. Gotta keep em full of inmates.
