    Go media, go. It has a Torino Scale rating of 1. So, on a scale of zero to ten, the chances of it hitting us is 1.

    Another scientifically illiterate post by 5cats...

    It`s big enough to cause a few problems yes, and likely wipe out a few species and cause a lot of damage. Wipe us out as a species? No.

    That`s if it even hits. It has a low probability of ever doing so to begin with.

    Hi, 5cats,

    making posts about the end of the world instead of commenting the post about the costs created by the republican shutdown?

    @mesovortex: Why So Nasty? io9 is a FINE site! And this IS SCIENCE! Find one single, solitary flaw in either article: you did READ THEM yes?

    @ILikeLogic: 2/3 of the cause was Democrats. Logic! It has eluded you!

    #1 Why should I comment on THAT thread? The libtards would p*ss on me even if I wrote a Nobel Prize Winning post! In 1,000 chars or less ;-)
    #2 WTF did you bring politics into this for? FU dude!

    @Patchouly: Currently? There are two "1" rated objects and NONE higher. So yes: this DOUBLES the dangerous things out in space!

    Would you prefer WE IGNORED IT? Jesus man! You don`t have to p*ss on a post based on who posted it!

    On another thread I pointed out that "Liberals Hate: It`s what they do!"

    And here? Proof. Scientific Proof!!!
    (I say that just to bother @mesovortex :-))

    @5cats:
    Proof is for maths and alcohol. Not science. First of all, it is not a `minor planet`. It`s about 60-80 times SMALLER than Chuxulub. And, it has a very low probability of ever hitting Earth.

    You took the article and spun it up into things it never said.

    You, 5cats, are scientifically illiterate.

    @mesovortex: I suspect alcohol has something to do with your recent outbreak of "TEH STUPIDS" eh?

    #1 When did -I- say "minor planet"?? It`s in the title & stuff and:
    #2 Minor Planet is the correct term for things which orbit the sun and are NOT planets! Or comets :-)
    #3 "Very Low" = the one of TWO THINGS which are currently known to be POSSIBLE. That`s the WHOLE POINT of the article!
    #4 Your FAIL continues to be EPIC...

    Remember the thing that exploded over Russia recently? They found a BIG CHUNK of it in the lake! It was WAY BIGGER than they first thought. THAT is why this sort of thing is interesting.

    The.Whole.Point! Is that it has the POSSIBILITY of hitting us. We`ll keep an eye on it, just in case.

    WHAT PROBLEM do you (and @Patchouly) have with this?

    Yeah, "minor planet" cracked me up. if 400m diameter is a "minor planet", then you can suck my minor planets.

    @5Cats

    "The libtards would p*ss on me even if I wrote a Nobel Prize Winning post!"

    5Cats, you have mental issues, and you write off any criticism as being from "liberals" with motives, rather than actually listen to the criticism and entertain the notion that some of it may be deserved.

    You are never going to grow as a person if you keep doing this.
