Started super intense workout regime, 6 days a week, a month ago. Group full of 20year olds, the first week I just died, in every freakin session. In a 5th week. today - did just fine. It only gets better from here on.
Nice to have won the genetic lottery :-) 45 in 3 months and all good.

Also, you change genders. Watch out for that.

I`m in my 40s and still get up the same. It`s about how you take care of yourself and your attitude.

I call BS! Children don`t sit for hours without sedatives or some sort of restraints.

@pmarren

""Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill" comes to mind."

Yes, there`s that. The passing years do teach you an awful lot about life`s shortcuts and the way things REALLY work.

Don`t forget once you do straighten up you have to lean against something till the headrush passes.

Jake, there is one good thing about aging, the saying "Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill" comes to mind.

Years ago I read about an aing grande dame who was being interviewd by a young journalist who asked if there were advantages to aging. She replied;

`Perspective. A few years ago I might have seen you as an impertinent young man. Now you are an amusing boy.`

But, yeah, grunting does get to be a feature. My cousin and her husband, on the other hand, are both in their mid-sixties and do pretty much nothing else but but cycle up mountains. Just retired and spending their time cycle-camping in Scotland, the Lakes, Iceland, Norway and god knows where else. Three nights camping, one in a hotel for weeks at atime. They take lovely photos of the Northern Lights and the Orkneys and mad Icelandic landscapes and are having a great time as far as I can tell. But that`s always been their thing, they met at a Uni cycling club 40 odd years ago.

Me, if I`m cyclng five miles for a pub lunch by the time I`m 70 I`ll call that fair enough.

Absolutely on the money. Don`t believe the Medicare ads showing old people biking up mountainsides. There`s nothing good about aging ... unless you`re incredibly deluded and believe what you read in Hallmark cards.
