I`ll be the first one to admit I know nothing about nothing but this issue really stumps me - I really am having trouble making heads or tails out of it - I know I am going to sound like a tard, but I`m saying it anyway - the footage of the victims looks so fake to me.

Syria used chemical weapons. On Syrians. No one cares. Now if they fly a plane into a building or two and we`ll......lose thousands of American lives for no reason at all.

flying -- I`ve found that the ratings don`t matter and that they`re kind of predictable. The reason that they don`t matter is because a recent post about George Zimmerman - the one billionth - received over 3 points. I mean, I suppose you could well reject that as evidence if constant GZ updates are your thing. But I`m going to put my foot down and say if GZ is what the people are interested in (still!), then F them.

Um, @flying_itj? I`m one of the BIGGEST USA FANS on IAB! I`ve been accused 100s of times of being "too gung-ho" and NEVER (iirc) that I hate them!!
LMAO! ROTFL!

I love the USA, but I love Canada even more

I don`t know about the rest of you guys, but I`m saying no because he`s a SCOAMF. He`s more likely to start WW III than he is to depose Asad.

Another barely above 1 rated inflammatory political propaganda submission.

I take it from your consistent sub-2 ratings that the average viewers of this site are a little sick of your political propaganda diarrhea on the daily.

Lose the hate and find some love for your neighbors 5kitten.

Rizzo, I don`t know why you think the Mexican-American war was the last conflict on our soil.

Civil War - 1861-65
Spanish-American War - 1898-1902
Pancho Villa`s raids
WW2 - several attacks on our soil

You`re the reason why this useless transatlantic rivalry is created. You just make stuff up. We know plenty about war, most of our population is HERE because of war. My mom`s family is here because of WW1, my dad`s family is here because of WW2. So I dare say we know it well, we are a product of it.

And Then Russia Pulls Out = Breaking News!

They cancelled their own conference on the Syria thing. Oh boy! That`s just BAD news all around.

@Rizzo71: That`s just all sorts of stupid, you know that eh?

If it all works out? I`ll be happy too! However, it still LITERALLY solves nothing! The massacre of civilians continues, the situation in Syria remains unchanged! Assad had airstrikes today to celebrate Obama backing down.

Even if the plan succeeds? It might end in abject failure...

Some "plan" for the PotUS to follow, eh?

"Hey, lets see what France thinks..."
"Well, what does Russia say?"
"We might do this, maybe, or not, depending..."

How has Obama managed to be different than Bush? Seriously, he so far managed to double down on his faults while doing absolutely nothing to fix the mess they left. Obamacare is certainly a factor but the main reason why most companies avoiding full time workers is because of the financial meltdown. Yet Obama perfectly willing to let Fed toss out taxpayer money at no expense. He`s unpopular now because he`s repeating everything Bush did and THEN some.

Amazing.

The caption for that cartoon is:

"I have no idea how we got into this rowboat."

So Putin will get a Nobel Peace Prize now? Not nice, the guy`s an iron-fisted dictator himself!

Anyhow, the chickens are NOT YET in the henhouse! All this "agreement" does is kick the can FURTHER down the road: UN Report (2-3 more weeks) followed by ACTUAL IMPLIMENTATION.

And if any of that fails? Then what?

This is FAR from an "Obama Victory" unless the whole point of it was to distract the masses? Then perhaps...

"The open question, I think, is to what extent was this part of a strategy and to what extent was it dumb luck?"

That`s exactly what I thought when I heard this news. Now I`m really interested in seeing how this plays out and if they do actually follow through with it.

Do I even have to bother how stupid that statement is?

Spoken like a true Eurotwat there`s plenty of people here who have first hand war experience. Wars that your country probably also got involved in nut don`t let that interfere with your hypocrisy what could you ever do without a scapegoat.

@ Whodat6484: I`m very happy with this recent turn of events. The open question, I think, is to what extent was this part of a strategy and to what extent was it dumb luck? Regardless, it looks like a chance for something good to happen (as opposed to a senseless cruise missile attack)--so I`m all for it.

Not surprisingly, I disagree with Noonan`s analysis. This national revolt on Obama`s Syrian proposal isn`t an indictment of Obama, as she suggests. Rather, it`s a political perfect storm that breaks down thus:

(1) The conservatives, who until now never met a military adventure they didn`t like, automatically refuse to give anything to Obama that he wants. I don`t even think there`s real thought involved at this point. So they`re out.

(2) The liberals have been appalled by Obama`s regressive, hawkish policy, which differs little from that of Bush II. They`re also fed up with being taken for granted by this administration. So they`re out.

(3) Centrist Americans are suffering from war fatigue. After more than a decade of constant war, they`ve finally had enough. So they`re out.

Honestly, I have no idea who Obama thought would be willing to get into the boat behind him to cross the Delaware.
