cman7721: The osprey`s eyes are adapted rather well for hunting fish. They naturally reduce the glare of the sun on the water`s surface and help it compensate for the refraction of light as it travels through the water. And, like most birds of prey, its eyesight is especially sharp, seeing clearly at distances well beyond what humans are capable of.

Um. WHAT. So an osprey (is that what it is?) can pin point a flounder under sand and dirt and WATER while on the fly? My mind is blown.
