My Texas Biology text book tells me that life started 6000 years ago in a lil town called Austin
where a Magic man in the sky huffed and puffed into a pile of lil dirt an created all the lil youngins.

What most people fail to realize is that through much of Earths history Mars was far more habitable than Earth. The chances for early life to arise there were better than here. What I posted on 8/31 was part of the same information stated Rich and deads post. An essential element for organic cell devlopement from proto cell matter was lacking in the early Earth.

One thing I find interesting is in an 1890`s English Biology book called "History of Life" there is no mention of creationism. There is large sections devoted to the explination of Darwin`s theories.

I don`t understand why we can`t just have a Science class, and then a Religion class. You can`t understand the world without understanding the Religions behind it.

"I don`t understand why we can`t just have a Science class, and then a Religion class. You can`t understand the world without understanding the Religions behind it." I agree whole heartedly.
Also if theyre going to teach creationism, which creationism myth are they going to teach and from which religion. Through out history there are hundreds of creation myths all of which are equally valid as far as scientific evidence supports them.

    Even gods make mistakes:
    1. Create Mars.
    2. Fill it with life, pat self on back.
    3. Bugger! Mars too far from the sun, not warm enough, atmosphere wrong. (strokes chin, looks bemused)
    4. Implement plan B: Create Earth, populate it with animals.
    5. Create humans, try to erase evidence of life on Mars.
    6. Rumbled! Humans have found evidence of previous mistake. (Mars). (Scratches head, frowns).
    7. Plan C...

patchouly, there are no `religious nuts` here. You are just preaching to the choir. It`s just like any other internet site where people enjoy patting each other on the back about how stupid creationists are. Don`t you get that?

Andrew: As per your previous comment, Comparative Religions was under the Social Studies banner at my high school in the early 70s. I took it, and we learned the basics of, and had speakers on, all the big religions. (They were all pretty goofy, BTW.) I hope schools still offer that kind of thing, if for no other reason than the Christers get see that their myths are no less silly than everyone else`s.
