I am not a fan of things around my wrists and neck. I have no use for a smart watch. I hope it`s a fad that dies quickly.

Hey man, you wanna buy a watch? If you had a watch you`d know it was nighttime and nighttime ain`t no time to be in this here neighborhood!
what`s a watch?
A very convenient way of finding out what the time is without having to carry something in your hand or take something out of your pocket/bag.

Every day, I have people asking me what time it is because they`re not wearing a watch and I am. It`s time they bought a watch, that`s what time it is.

Fail. Smartphones are getting bigger this decade, not smaller.

No one`s going to buy that enough to make it worth producing.

"...a couple of wrist bands and some Velcro..."
I wasn`t thinking that primitive but, I don`t see this going anywhere except toward having a cell attached to your forearm...

Get a couple of wrist bands and some Velcro and attach a "smartphone" to the back of your forearm - job done!

If it`s good enough for Kirk it`s good enough for you.

I`d like to have one (when/if) the technology gets better. That thing is ugly as sin and at the moment I don`t mind pulling out my phone. What I want is a wrist computer that is holographic so all I am wearing is a simple band and it displays an interactive screen down my forearm.

I have a Pebble. Waste of money. It`s fine as a watch (kind of hard to read sometimes) but the "apps" are a joke. You can only have a few installed and the size requirement is so small they are largely aesthetic or have no real function. It has its high points but overall I wish I could have my money back.

It would be a handy nav-unit for my bicycle rides. Also hold music. But as a phon...no. I enjoy NOT being reachable on my bike.

@Flying: Watches are more popular now than they have been in years. Especially big fat expensive ones.

I`ve had mine a few years. The odd side-effect but hey.

All it needs is a remote control for the other hand.

I don`t agree, Flying. This is one from 7 or 8 years ago.

I`ve used more than one calculator watch and I even had a Casio phone dialer.
The last time I bought wristband for my last watch, a Timex Marathon, was just before I started to carry a cell phone on a regular basis.
When polled, the thing people say they use most on the cell phone is the clock.

Well, that and I`m imaging Drac having dinner with the significant other`s parents when, all-of-a-sudden, SO`s ass starts ringing...
"Oh, my!! I though that was on `vibrate only.`"

It would have been a fantastic hit if it were introduced about 8 or 9 years ago. Unfortunately for the clueless corporates, the fashion of wearing wrist watches has more or less gone the way of bell bottoms.
