@LordJim,
"You wouldn`t be so considered unless you waggled it at someone uninvited. Let`s drop that crap."

Yeah. We would. Many women throw all men into the same low class just as many men throw all women into the same low class.

way to dimish what raoe victims go through, i agree it iant nice to see a c*ck you didn`t ask for, but it`s a hell of a differnt thing to get a c*ck shoved inside you without asking for it.

Drama, it cheapens real life.

The "Rape Culture" reference is because this moron just assumed she "wanted it" even though she NEVER asked for it and couldn`t seem to understand why she wouldn`t want what he had to give.

It`s called "Consent". Without it, it`s called "Assault".

I`m pretty sure that the term "rape culture" is in reference to a situation of one person being unwantingly aggressive (deemed on a sexual level of some sort) towards another and justification is given towards to the aggressor saying the victim was at fault for whatever reason can be found, such as their clothing, something they said or an action they made regardless. I.e., "they asked for it."

Apparently, the term has been around since the 70s but I haven`t heard this term till maybe a year or so ago.

Elkingo - I see what you wrote and I`m duly corrected. However, in this article in regards to the purpose of the app it says if anybody puts up any pictures that are Inappropriate will be banned So the whole "she was asking for it" claim, sorry, still doesn`t hold water. It says even that it`s safe to see at work. This is not a xxx app.

Lol Gerry... its when they dye the hair, or have super good hair, or like wild colors.. in the link`s case blue and plum.. the idea is the hair is so sexy it turns you on by itself.

@ elkingo - I went to your plum link. It listed "hair porn" What the hell is hair porn? I must be getting old if I`m out of touch with the latest sexual fashions!

@littleoracle: From the article: "Let’s Date is an iPhone app developed by the the co-creator of alt-porn site Suicide Girls as a less anonymous, more accountable alternative to apps like Tinder."

So yea.. its `from a porn site`.

Proof:

Plum

I mean... if you download that app on your phone, you are most likely a guy expecting to see some XXX type stuff. If you are a female, you are expected to be providing the XXX stuff.

spanerbulb: The term "rape culture" is feminazi BS.

Opening doors for your date and paying for the meal has been absurdly called part of "rape culture", even pinup calendars and adult magazines featuring women are called part of "rape culture".

It`s feminist code for anything a guy does that admires the female form. It`s use is ridiculous and demeans the seriousness of real rape.

@gerry.

sure, she could have backed out of the conversation. but really, what good would that do? he`d just do it to some other girl. uninvited and unsolicited.

i don`t mind looking at a nice weiner on my phone now and again, but its my decision to make, not somebody else`s.

Gerry,

No, I didn`t miss that part.

`but she stuck with it when she didn`t have to.`

She made a choice. To give the skeevy little creep a good slapping.

You think she should have just shut up and accepted that that`s how it is. Draw your shawl over your face because a man wants to taunt you with his dick. Hurry away and accept it.

She chose to reduce him to `Please don`t tell my mum.`

Way to go.

Mom: "Trevor, some girl I don`t know sent me an email. And it had a picture of someone that looked a lot like you."

Trevor: "It wasn`t me, Mom."

Mom: "Well, it *looked* an awful lot like you. And he was nekked. You could see his thing. Right out there. Trevor, are you sending nekked pictures of yourself to people?"

Trevor: "Mom, it wasn`t me, OK? It was some mistake."

Mom: "Well, how come that looked like the inside of your house? I think I recognize the framed print that your father and I gave you last--"

Trevor: "Can we just drop it, Mom? It`s all a mistake. OK?"

Mom: "Well, it sure *looked* a lot like you. Hold on, let me see what your father thinks.... Ed?"

Yeah. That would be an awkward conversation all right. I`d give a thousand hazelnuts for the actual transcript.

Lord Jim, you skipped over the part where she could at any time just end the conversation. She didn`t have to keep texting back. After the first bit she knew what he was like and she chose to be a participant in dialog.

But oh, she`s a woman so she`s not accountable for her own bad choices. The guy is a douchebag to be sure, but she stuck with it when she didn`t have to.

`There are certainly sh*tloads of self serving, sexually aggressive a$$holes out there who think it`s OK to push themselves onto non-consenting females`

Yes. Totally yes.

Do these gems of society constitute a "culture"? I hope not!`

I`m afraid so. They do, any time this issue is raised we get a swift `Bitches be crazy` response from the usual suspects.

Actually, this is not from a porn site, it`s a dating app that you can download from iTunes to instantly connect to a phone of someone you`re interested in.

She didn`t know this guy. He randomly found her, connected with her and instantly started sending messages. Which included a picture of him naked. When she told him to stop he gave her an attitude and insisted that she should tolerate it. Then he began to insult her and tell her she was a prude for not going along with what he wanted. The only time he recanted was when she threatened to send it to his mom. Which in my opinion ended in hilarious results. I would have loved to hear what his mom said to this.

I think some of the reactions here are to phrases like "feminist" or "rape culture" rather than the fact that he`s being a stupid dick to a total stranger.

if this happened to a woman some of you knew, what would you do about it?

Except for the "rape`culture" bit I think she did well. I`m hoping the comment was just a pissed-off reaction to his stupidity, which is epic in nature, after all. I don`t believe that there actually is a "rape culture". There are certainly sh*tloads of self serving, sexually aggressive a$$holes out there who think it`s OK to push themselves onto non-consenting females. Do these gems of society constitute a "culture"? I hope not! I understand, I think, what she`s getting at but I would very much like to NOT be considered part of a "rape culture" merely because I have a penis just as women generally don`t want to be considered part of a "whore culture" merely because they have vaginas. Sexism, like racism, works both ways.

Gerry,

`maybe flashing junk is a bit more that boobies....to straight guys.`

Bollocks. I`m walking though a quiet part of the park and a woman walks by and flashes her tis. I`d probably tut and roll my eyes.

My daughter is walking through a quiet part of the park and some guy approaches her with his dick he better hope god finds him before I do.

I`ve never been to Mardi Gras but I believe it is rather the point that those who show up are all up for some transgressive fun. Which is lovely but does not translate to everyday life.

`As for the rape trial....no one was raped. `

I don`t know what that means.

`You`re as bad as she is ...`

Ow, burn.

LordJim, okay, maybe flashing junk is a bit more that boobies....to straight guys. But at mardi gras they yell "show us your tits" and "Show us your dick".

As for the rape trial....no one was raped. You`re as bad as she is at escalating what was just a tacky thing to do and turning it into some huge rape-culture-conspiracy .

Chillax.

A guy sending pictures of his dong no more is `perpetuating rape culture` than a woman sending pictures of her tits. (after all, it`s all about `equality`, right?)

Anything he does AFTER (except to apologize) she asks him not to IS, though.

@LordJim

Waht`s Gerry is referring to (I think) is such situations that currently exists in many towns and colleges.

If a woman is drunk, and she consents to sex, she can change her mind afterward and call it rape because `they were drunk and are not responsible for saying `yes`.`

BUT, that SAME guy, if he were drunk does not get the same consideration. He IS responsible for his actions, even if he is drunk.

Gerry,

`Oh, I forget, women are not held accountable for their choices...only men.`

I guess that`s why rape victims are spared painful cross-examination at trial.

`And showing your junk is no different then flashing titties.`

Really? Spend a few minutes thinking about that.

You know- with dick pics, or tit shots- or wolf whistling- sometimes it is good natured joshing- others downright harassing. As always it all depends on the circumstances- and by a certain age we should all be able to tell the difference. If he had sent a dick pic- got an earful then APOLOGISED I reckon all would have been well. But to get agressive to the girl- than deserves a check. Next time he might grab an arse- and get funny when the girl objects--- because how can he tell when no means yes????

Crakr,

That`s correct, "perpetuating rape culture". is not rape. It`s just saying that Bitches better look at my dick when I want them to. A bit like that recent post we had about the old college chant.

Y is for `Your sister
O is for `Oh, so tight.
U is for `Underage`
N is for `No Consent`
G is for `Grab that ass.`

That wasn`t rape either and so could not possibly be "perpetuating rape culture".

Blame him for sexually harassing. She can stop the conversation any time she wants to but she chose to accept his texts and text him back. Oh, I forget, women are not held accountable for their choices...only men.

And showing your junk is no different then flashing titties. It`s stupid and tacky but it does not "perpetuating rape culture". Damn feminazis.

madduck-"I don`t want to upset you"

Hey, why would I be upset that you got it right THIS time? (that was a joke, btw)

It`s very simple, if you`re going to be an idiot and send a picture that you don`t want your mother to see into the ether, be REAL sure the person on the other end is trustworthy and wants it.

If you don`t, you`re an idiot.

"the notion that a young man can expect a woman accept unsolicited attention of a sexual nature..."

So you`re the type of woman that believes a guy whistling at a hot chick walking down the street is "sexual harassment" right?

Sorry, but I call wolf whistling "art appreciation".

What this guy did was just moronic, he`s a "show off", and it was immature. But it was not rape, it was indecent exposure and let`s hope he learned his lesson.

No Crakr- but the notion that a young man can expect a woman accept unsolicited attention of a sexual nature perpetuates the idea that women do not get to choose.

The dude was an idiot and she had my support, until she mentioned "perpetuating rape culture".

Yeah, sounds like she`s feminazi prude now to me.
Sending a woman a nude selfie is not rape, it`s moronic, but not rape.
