Draculya - you mean by being the only Western country to elect a minority into the highest office? So weird.

Andrew: what took so long :| not to mention that is the only real reason, in my opinion, that he was elected. or have we all forgotten what affirmative action is.

this country, as well as others, have always treated race relations and such as "touchy". its just the way people are.

pic is funny. but pic is old.

How Canada sounds: We usually speak politely, clearly, and with an accent that barely differs from coast to coast. This point is not lost on US newscasters, who headhunt our news readers because they can`t find decent ones in the States. Americans think we say "I`m going oot" or "It`s aboot five to ten" because they often say "Ahm goan aht" and "Iss abaht fahv tuh tayun." Despite this, the British think we sound like "Yanks." We understand the British better than Americans do because we`re twisting in the middle between the countries, culturally, but some Brit accents defy comprehension even to us. All in all, we often look to both with amusement.
    Thank you.

Gerry, you need to get your arse over to Oxford (my home town), about 1.5 hrs from London. There are a LOT of Americans in the summer who really do look like that (albeit with updated more fashionable haircuts).

@carmium, tbh that`s the only way I can tell the difference between Canadian and American accents. Agree on the Brit accents. Try youtubing geordies, scousers, Northern Irish.

You forgot who started slavery in the land set to become the US, who paved the way for WW2 by keeping Germany in a crippling debt and the guns well that also has something to do with your type....... Now how many black Kings/Queens have you had?? Oh ya they were put there by god...... Brits aren`t funny they`re hypocrites.

AYE!! The Farkyoo tribe. They traveled over here on the sea when some guy/girl who said god made him/her a supreme leader of us all decided to use a food famine to make people join a religion his/her family made up or let them starve......

    Love these posts
Blighty is grass roots pagan, with a gadzillion little villages merged into towns, cities
cross a few miles and the dialect is different,
as is the customs, sadly with mass immigration
Blighty is fast becoming a bad place to live
    and many Brits are emigrating
