If we attack Syria, we will have jumped the shark. Time to bring it all down.

Oh, hey NSA. You`re justifying my point fyi.

I think this video proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that Wesley Clark is a complete f***tard, and so was his "source." So, we planned to take over 7 countries? How`s that working out? It looks like were pretty much 0 for 7 so far. We didn`t take over Iraq; we`re pulling out, and in case you haven`t noticed, they`re selling all their f***ing oil to f***ing China! We haven`t taken over Afghanistan (the GOOD war, according to Obama), either. Neither have we haven`t taken over Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, or Syria.

Actually, it`s Clark who just went 0 for 7. Honestly, I don`t know who`s more f***tarded, Clark or anyone who still puts any credence in anything he says.

If the US goes to war with Syria, I believe it would be within the Syrians` rights to launch a retaliative chemical attack on wall street.

BTW, doesn`t congress have to approve a war? Does the president get to wage war as long as he calls it a `policing effort`, `no-fly zone` or a `limited strike`

oil is a VALID reason to interfere in the middle east until fracking makes it no longer necessary

Congress does have to authorize war. But nobody listens to what the law is anymore, they have ways of getting around that. They haven`t even declared war since December 8, 1941, if that answers your question.

OldOllie is old and doesn`t get the modern meaning of "take over". It means, grandpa, to install a puppet government obeying your commands.

As an Iraqi who lives in America. I can tell the suffering that my people went throw and the average American is going throw right now is caused by the same people in DC. Also, a big salute to General Wesley. I like the fact that he studied philosophy and he ran for presidency. He remind me of what plato`s republic said about king philosopher and the utopian kallipolis.

    (1) Proving, not for the first time that "military intelligence" is a contradiction in terms, but
    (2) The West`s other interest in the Middle East, which does keep us (and that`s Europe as well as the US) involved, even if there were no oil, is ensuring that the Islamic countries do not inflict another Holocaust on Israel. (Although, of course, if it wasn`t for the oil, they`d have no money to do it with.)

    @SnoopyBG

yeah, and how`s that working? The so called `puppet government` sure isn`t listening too well then is it? Well, maybe they are if the US told Iraq to seel most of it`s oil to China...

So this list of seven countries was drawn up in 2001?

    Quite away behind schedule then.

Just doesn`t sound plausible that sane governments think that way. By which I mean 5-year plans for military action Obviously governments do think in terms of puppet governments.

@oldollie, I don`t have to read another post from an American. Didn`t you just know one of them would say this? So you know more of what goes on in the pentagon than this US General. F***! You guys are more brain-washed than I ever thought possible.

@LordJim `Obviously governments do think in terms of puppet governments."
`Twas ever thus - surely you`re of an age to remember Tom Lehrer, always a good guide
A 50-year-old song called "Send the Marines":
    "For might makes right
    Until they`ve seen the light
    They`ve got to be protected
    All their rights respected
Until somebody we like can get elected."

    Lehrer is a genius.

`If, after hearing my songs, just one human being is inspired to say something nasty to a friend, or perhaps to strike a loved one, it will all have been worth the while.`
