Skyfall does not belong on this list.

    American Pie was not mentioned.

Good post, but "Goldfinger" should have been on this list. It`s an amazing composition in its own right, but became a dynamo with Shirley Bassey singing it.

    Skyfall theme sucked.
Should be on the list as "iconic" movie themes

"Evergreen" from `A Star Is Born`
"You Light Up My Life" from a sucky film by the same name.
    "The Rose" from The Rose

Definitely think Skyfall was a great song, but not top 10 worthy, perhaps if it took off an got radio play, but definitely not. Definitely suprised not to see footloose. they teased Lion King, but that didn`t make it? really? Nor Beauty and the Beast?

I can never sit down and listen to Skyfall all away though. Goldfinger or Live and Let Die would of been a better choice if you are going to name a Bond song.

Danger Zone - Top Gun. And this should definitely say top 10 `pop` or `vocal`.

    This list sucks!

First of all, the original Rocky theme > `Eye of the tiger`.

Where the hell is `Super Fly`?

Last but not least, John Williams should have dominated this list. Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, STAR WARS!!!, Superman, Indian Jones series, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial... and more. The man is a frickin` legend.

"I can never sit down and listen to Skyfall all away though."
I felt it played too long in the movie opening. "Another Way to Die" is a great song but, it was edited to be too long, also.

"Goldfinger" crushes "Skyfall" to pieces as opening.
Heck, "Nobody Does it Better" does, too. I remember people singing that as they left the theatre.
My guardian hung out for the next showing just to here it again.

Gerry, that was harsh but, she is overrated... and that opening was SO FREAKIN` LONG!!!
Dude, that... That.... *pulls out the Bond shelf to begin marathon*

Mykunter, Mr. Williams, along with the editors, saved Star Wars. I`ve watched it with the music crushed. It`s un-watchable.
The whole movie is in two points:
-The surprise of roaring surround sound (I think it was the first movie to have it, 5.1 at least) when the first destroyer goes by... and goes by... and goes by... and then the engines...
-the emotional swell that occurs resultant of the Twin Suns framing and musical cue.

The top 2 make me want to puke up my intestines. (The Whitney version of #1, not the Dolly version.) There are some good ones on the list, but others suck too. #9 is NOT music. It might be an art form, but it is in no way music. Sorry.

Skyfall. Pah. Adele is a cheap imitation of the Bond greats.

Much musings here, Sky fall yes great, but no where near Goldfinger, or Diamonds are forever,
American pie? where was this? and I know instrumentals are not included but the last of the Mohicans soundtrack is haunting

@mykunter, she clearly says at the beginning instrumentals have not been included.

There`s way better Bond songs than Adele. Stop trying to be hip.

My vote would be `Always look on the bright side of life`, Life of Brian.

Haven`t had a chance to watch, but The Worlds End had both `Happy Hour` by the Housemartins and Sisters of Mercy`s `This Corrosion` for the end titles, pretty hard to beat.

Life of Brian - Always Look On The Bright Side

    Trainspotting - Lust for Life

McCabe and Mrs Miller - Stranger Song at the start, Winter Lady at the end. Perfect.
