It`d be funny if one of those GMO labeling laws passes, then Monsanto sues the state and forces every product to get the label. Virtually EVERYTHING you put in your mouth has been genetically modified by people. If you have a problem with some of the newer methods of modification, fine. But call it that.

And yet they have NO problem eating anything labeled "organic" even though there are no official standards or inspections to know where THAT food comes from or how it is raised. You want real organic food? Grow your own garden.

I have ZERO problem with eating GMO-sourced food. But then, I have a scientific background and can separate scare-mongering BS with actual scientifically-valid data.

I`m a scientist, and i`m perfectly fine with GMO food.
Just because its GM doesn`t mean it`ll make you sick, i`d much rather eat GM than eat most processed food, god knows what crap they put in them!!

Virtually every food available in markets, both "organic" or not, has been genetically modified.

It`s all been selected and hybridized for hundreds of years. That`s why the corn we eat today doesn`t look like this.

The BT doesn`t stay in the corn plant, it`s only there for pest control when the plants are young.
BTW, moveon.org is ran by billionaire socialist George Soros and was sued by the Anti-Defamation League for comparing GW Bush to Adolf Hitler.

everything americans eat has GMO in in. When i`m at the supermarket, and my kids pick something up, i`m like, all looking at the label to see where it`s made. if it`s from America, it`s "NO, that`s american." I even went so far as to check whether our favourite brand of microwave popcorn was gmo or not, and it wasn`t, (morrison farms) so we kept eating it. However, there is no way of telling wheter or not pollenation has occured from GMO feilds down the road, and besides, we dont eat it now since I threw out my microwave when I discovered eating radiated food was probably worse than the GMO...

    Would I try GMO corn?

I NEVER buy organic. It`s a waste of money.
This is fear mongering. There is absolutely no reason to believe that GMO is bad for you. Evidence shows it is just as healthy as organic.

I`m more bothered by Monsanto trying to corner the farmer into buying seeds from them annually instead of using the age old method of harvesting in the fall, storing in the winter, and planting in the spring (a farmer got sued for doing this). So farmers are expected to pay year after year for friggin seeds which is ridiculous in my opinion. In just a few generations we`ll have no idea what farming really entails, it will be buy seeds and add brawndo!

I was about to post the link that Tacos4Brkfst posted, but he already posted it. That whole episode is pretty informative and I`m about to say things from that episode.
    Organic food is more expensive.
Organic food contains pesticides that are more dangerous (albeit not a whole lot more) than their synthetic counterparts.
GMOs have saved millions of people from dying of starvation.
Like they said in this video, you can`t tell the difference between organic and GMO food.
There`s a market for it so people will sell it, and if people want to buy it because they`re too lazy to grow it themselves, whatever.

Btw, years ago some of this GMO corn got into the human food supply. The corn was made into taco shells and sold at Taco Bell stores nationwide.

No one got sick from this, although there were some hypochondriacs that filed lawsuits anyways. Yum foods decided to settle the lawsuits rather than enrich a bunch of lawyers. The recalled corn taco shells where ground up and feed to cattle with no ill effects.

"You`re an idiot. There`s absolutely nothing harmful about microwave heating."

That was unnecessarily rude. Try to be helpful instead of a d!ck.

In many ways, cooking with a microwave is HEALTHIER: Harvard Medical School article

A plastic container could release chemicals when heated in a microwave so you should stick to containers that are definitely microwaveable.

Unless a microwave is broken and leaking radiation (which is still a small amount since there are limits set for how much radiation a microwave can put out) there is nothing to fear from microwaving food.

    @MrPeabody

That study is so flawed it`s not funny. The scientific criticism of it is overwhelming and it`s been all but formally retracted. Their control group rats had just as many tumors because they used a rat strain with a genetic predisposition to tumor formation. In at least one case, their control group had more tumors than the GMO maize group. Sample size was also abysmal.

Gerry you know you can buy makeup these days, that aren`t full of dangerous chemicals. A lot of women have switched long ago.

GMO is mostly bad news. The modified plant pollen travel and spread to conventional crops. Good luck humanity.

Monsanto is strictly interested in two things; total market control by creating dependency on their seeds and the enormous profits they see from eradicating crop diversity.

MrPeabody: Linking one thing to another is rather easy, even if the things involved have nothing to do with one another.

Might I remind you, and others, that saccharin sweetener was forced to have a warning label for over 40 years because of a faulty mouse study.

Besides which, HuffPo and Food Freedom are not reliable sources for anything. They are even making the spurious claim that Monsanto corn is responsible for bee colony collapses and butterfly deaths, which they have absolutely no proof of.
