So, can we also charge pharaohs for keeping slaves?

What about the Incas for sacrificing their kids etc

oh, oh, i know, what if we build a case against Spain for causing the mistreatment of Native Americans? (actually that sounds kinda reasonable in comparison lol)

The guy`s a very well educated idiot. The only value in such an action is purely academic. Can`t think of any reason for such an action to take place outside of a classroom, unless it`s that there`s more room in the school`s auditorium.

Forgoing the jurisdictional and lack of power of attorney issues, just to name a few. Who`s he going to sue? The Sanhedrin? The Roman Empire? All of mankind?

If so, what`s next? Suing Egypt for the enslavement of the Jews on behalf of Moses? Suing Iraq (Babylon) for the diaspora of the Jews on behalf of Ezra and Nehemiah? Suing Kanye for ruining Taylor Swift`s Grammy acceptance speech?

Actually, that last one probably should happen.

Yep, Im here, and this disgusts me......But maybe for not the reason many may think.

So, lets say I believe, Ill make my first argument as a believer. Christ religions are taught that Jesus died for our sins. If you take that as face value, he died intentionally. He "sacrificed" himself to save humanity. If that is the case, this is a shame. If it was unfair trial, if it warranted a lawsuit, then it was not planned and there is a belief of discrimination. Had he been found innocent, would have still offed himself to save us? I doubt that.

Now as a non believer, I make my true argument. How about we counter sue for:
    -Crusades
    -Dark Ages
    -Slavery
    -Discrimination
    -Thievery
    -Murder of various scientists
-Murder in the form of "holy healing"
    -Rape of a virgin
    -Fratricide

Ahh hell really I could go on and on. Bring it dumbass

The courts should demand proof that Jesus ever even existed before they will hear the trial.

That`ll stop him in his tracks.

But the bible says he existed. And the bible is the word of God. And God doesn`t lie. So...he MUST have existed...right? My brain hurts now.

robswindol - That`s one of the funny parts about this. There is no doubt that Jesus Christ was a real person. He most definitely existed, was put on trial and was crucified. Even Atheists, jews and historians can agree on that.

You can argue whether he was son of god or not. (I vote NOT)

    A. What`s the statute of limitations? Can we really allow the precedent of 2000+ year liabilities? (Hint: "NO")

    B. Well okay ass-hat lawyer, just for grins go on with your lawsuit. Just remember, any damages must be awarded to Jesus` estate, in other words, his heirs. Go ahead and introduce that whole "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" can of worms into open court, I dare ya`!

Yeah. I suspect he actually is a person who existed in history. He was a nice Jewish boy. But you know what I mean. This guy isn`t suing on behalf of some historical Jewish kid. He`s suing on behalf of the son of God. It`s a bit different.

Well hell, even I believe Jesus Christ existed. He was a charismatic man who found a new way among a sea of other religious businessmen to communicate to the public and gain followers. You cant really deny the dude existed.

Now the whole "Son of God" thing is a whole different matter.

I wonder how long before the definition of the "Son of God" becomes a figure of speech as we learn more. God lived in the sky and the Devil lived in the lava, until we learned what was really up and down there. Then it just because an analogy. "God can protect you", until people started asking for actual protection and proof that it was there, then again it was shrugged off as an analogy.

"Angels exist all around us", that is, until someone claims to see them, then its sacrilege.

So really, how long until the whole "Son of God" thing is just dumbed down to, we are all sons (children) of god, and he was just a prophet, a

But really, highlighting other peoples responses here, if it were to all be believed, the only true witness that could be called to testify on behalf of the defendant would be God him (her?)self. This would force the entity to come down and actually provide first hand testimony. Funny thing is, no matter how the testimony goes, Jesus cant win. As I stated earlier, either he let himself die intentionally (sacrifice), or he was murdered and in fact did NOT die for our sins. Only God can say which is true, and simply being in court allows God to be judged and proving his fallibility. A sad day for Atheists and Theists alike.

So with that said, I wonder if this dude REALLY thought it through. Either he gets his case tossed, or proves his case by means I explained above. A loss either way...

"Well hell, even I believe Jesus Christ existed"

I man named Jesus may have existed, but I don`t believe that all the things ascribed to him occurred. He may have been a composite of various people, legends and religious stories that predate him.

If he was a man, he was just a figurehead of a messianic cult that evolved into a mainstream religion.

If that`s all he ever was, Christ would`ve been forgotten within a few hundred years.

` Christ would`ve been forgotten within a few hundred years.`

He was forgotten a lot sooner than that. What we have now is a construct created by Paul and elaborated upon by the church.

LordJim: Not true, It took more than Paul to keep the Christian church alive. Peter, John, Constantine, The Nicenes and many others played important roles.

And it wasn`t for a lack of trying to stamp Christianity out either. All of Jesus` disciples were martyred except John who was nearly killed then imprisoned.

I believe Satan would fall into that too.

    -And Dinosaurs
    -And Santa Clause

I still wonder what was so special? But weve been over this before. The brainwashed 1/3 needs an entity to do right, the rest of us simply CHOOSE to do whats right, every day. We build and improve ourselves, everyday. You know, something that was said could NEVER happen without a "Lord"......

@Steelgrid, dead on. If not Jesus, it was Zeus and the Greek Gods. Why are they any less real now that everyone has switched over?

To be honest, "God`s" crime against humanity - had he not just been a fake sky wizard - is so atrocious that he would be tried and executed for his evil crimes. Never mind the whole Jesus thing. But hey, warp things how you want, Christians. Make history fit your beliefs. Never question anything. Just blindly follow.

I saw something on my facebook wall that cemented my unbelief and gave a bit of insight into the religious mind. A petitioner was asking god why they had such a pooty day, why`d I wake up late, why was I stuck in traffic, why`d I spill my coffee (or something like that) and god`s response wasn`t you`re an asshat take responsibility for your actions but I was saving you from worse things happening be glad that`s all you got, you ungrateful bitch how dare you think to question me (not verbatim).
