I felt like that sketch was 3 minutes too long. But I guess that`s the point it mocks not just the one uping but the refusal to stop until someone "wins".

OMG! That`s my two grandfathers talking the one time they met. 1 british and the other redneck. After comparing hardships they re-played WWII how it "should" have been fought.

They sounded exactly like that.

The original sketch was written by 2 Pythons - Graham Chapman and John Cleese - with Barry Cryer, Marty Feldman and Tim Brooke-Taylor though.

This sketch is not a Python sketch. It origionally comes from an ealier TV programme called "Al Last the 1948 Show"
