They came forward and were rewarded. They were football players.

The story.

The fellows were probably not surprised that no clerk came to help them. That seems to be the way things go today, in retail establishments.

@wibble4321, you`re right but if more and more people go out of their way to notice and positively reinforce these kinds of actions, maybe it`ll spread and become less unusual. Gotta start somewhere and kudos to these guys for starting! (and the news station for reporting, I guess)

You had to bring up that they`re black guys, how racist. Couldn`t you just say they were guys.

Reminds me of a scene from Clerks.

If you`re not familiar with the film, Dante is behind the counter with his girlfriend after coming in on his day off to open the store. He doesn`t want to deal with customers so he leaves some mixed change on the counter & a sign telling people to be honest & pay for their sh*t. I can`t find a video clip but here`s a short audio clip.

Good to see, now watch the IRS hunt them down for not paying sales tax.

> It should be unusual and unexpected for people not to do this, not the other way around.

The media makes money from showing us things that are uncommon. That`s why you rarely see stuff like this on the news. On average, people do behave honestly.

Isn`t it a sad statement of society that we have to celebrate people doing the right thing? It should be unusual and unexpected for people not to do this, not the other way around. Sad face.
