Hrm, at least they don`t do that one allergy medication that is like the ass end of PCP mixed with a bit of LSD. Though, in all my experimentation with mind altering substances I am still sadden that Opium never found me.

Drinking Codeine Cough Syrup with Sprite in the back of a chauffeured vehicle much like the rap group Three-6 Mafia claims to do. Now I am feeling as high as a Gulfstream G650 private jet.

mentott510 - dextromethorphan is NOT an opiate or morphine derivative ... its a dissociative, and still found in most cough medicines today, although its a much weaker and time released.

Romilar cough medicine was available over the counter in the 1960s. It contains dextromethorphan with is a synthetic morphine derivative (an opiate like heroin which turns into morphine in the body). I remember it was starting to show up in high school in the late 1960`s. Definitely works on coughs.

Well, cough syrup used to have strong stuff in it, even Codine. So this makes a ton of sense, actually.

Things don`t change. Every generation of teenagers thinks they`re doing things for the first time, that they invented it, that things are harder, tougher, more stringent for them than anyone, ever, before them. They then go on to become adults who complain about "kids these days" and all of their disrespect and apathy and laziness and how, "in their day" things were tough and they had to work hard and would have *never* been so disrespectful. Things don`t change.

Gees Linctus, still buy it myself to be honest. Beats Collis Brown- that stuff had quite a large dash of morphine.

"Heavy Petting, Vicks and Rock-&-Roll!" was the battle cry of the dissolute teen back then.
