@Dargonace THANK YOU!! You are one of the first people I`ve seen that actually gets it. You 100% correct this monster that is the American system of politics is now a self sustaining horde of greed and corruption. Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Left, Right, Bush or Obama. None of it matters. You can`t repair a broken system by using that broken system.

I`m sick of the bickering of Rep vs. Dem crap with you guys, why don`t we all agree that our government is f**ked and needs a complete overhaul. We need to elect officials who have no ties to current political parties to at least minimize their exposure to the same corporate greed that has overtaken both parties.

You know whats really f**king sad? Is that you guys keep talking about liberal vs conservative, republican vs. democrat, when none of that sh*t even matters at this point. Regardless of who is in office, there will be corporations tossing money at them so that they can dictate policy in their favor to drive up profits for their company. The bulk of Washington has been bought and sold like commodities on wall street. They are in no way concerned about the American people, all they care about is appealing to the highest bidder and lining their pockets. All the dumb sh*t Bush did was for profit, and going in Obama had potential, but just like his predecessor he succumbed to the allure of the almighty dollar and now hes doing the same dumb sh*t for the same dumb reason. America is a Plutocracy and is being run by corporate board members who dictate policy to whatever politicians they currently own.

This book seems no better or worse than that stupid "Left Behind" series. It certainly is fap fodder for the left but then I agree that the material is there. Neo-Cons are easy targets... they really do cling to their guns and their bibles.

@spanerbulb: You mean the KORAN, right?

Because there are 100 ACTIVE ISLAMIST JIHAD MOVEMENTS WORKING RIGHT NOW!
And... 1? Active Christian movement???

Oh yes! Those Christians are SUCH a THREAT!

As long as people continue to read the bible and take it seriously, we will have the tangible threat of a scenario like this book depicts.

It`s amaxing how the GOP paints a picture of Democrates being bullies when republicans want guns and to not let women have abortions. Just like that HITLER guy. (*cough,cough-Patriot act-cough*)

It`s probably true. The last time Republicans imposed morality on Democrats there was a civil war. That was back in the 60`s, but Dems are still violent, racist fascists, just as they were back then (the 1860`s of course).

The good thing about an American civil war is they do what they do best on their own turf and no innocent lives are lost.

Crakr, you scrutinize a typo but yet you still can`t tell me where this new conservative demographic flowering will come from?

Surely with your superior non gay, non vegan, Rovian math (which worked so well on election night `12 if you recall) you can show me? THOSE COCOONS ARE OUT THERE AND WE ARE GOING TO FIND THEM [email protected] IT!

Andy, when you use that word, "weird" you sound like a third grader trying to describe his feelings for the cute new girl in his class for the first time. Use your words, speak above third grade level.

Goerge Orwell, Democratic Socialist like his contemporary Jack London. And you need a checkup from the neckup if you think you can identify me politically.

Seriously @SmagBoy1? First post?

@QueenZira: 1984 is about `fascism` which wears many disguises. Called by any other name? The result is always the same: 1984`s "Utopia"...

The question is moot. Obama`s going to spark a race-based war before the end of his term.

He was really a "utopianist". He always wanted a perfect balance between Capitalism and Collectivism, etc etc.

"Capitalism leads to dole queues, the scramble for markets, and war. Collectivism leads to concentration camps, leader worship, and war. There is no way out of this unless a planned economy can somehow be combined with the freedom of the intellect, which can only happen if the concept of right and wrong is restored to politics."

He basically wanted to have his cake and eat it, too. Wouldn`t it be nice if we could just strategically balance it all out?

QueenZira, don`t be weird. He described himself as many different things. However, he never described himself as a Socialist in commonly understood definition of the word (both among the laymen and academia). I wrote my Master`s thesis from Columbia University on Socialism. I know this shiite.

In terms of Socialism, he is most accurately described as a "Libertarian Socialist". But this is leaving the bounds of Socialism altogether, really. I do know that this is an ideology I know you would hate. Not enough control for people like you. Here`s his quote:

"The real division is not between conservatives and revolutionaries but between authoritarians and libertarians"

And here is a quote for people like you:

"as with the Christian religion, the worst advertisement for Socialism is its adherents."

I can`t believe you guys are afraid of these Christians. You do know that they are all like 50 years old and talk like: "Golly gee dad, that sure was great!"

I could literally think of 5 different groups that would be more likely to trigger a civil war or sectarian conflict.

Caribou barbie has been old news since `08, let`s leave her on the trash heap of history.

Bravo, Orwell WAS a socialist and before you wet yourself over that term perhaps you should go actually look up the meaning of that word.

Crakr, you think we`re going to get more conservative in the future? And just where are these hoards of frightened angry old white people at? (hint, it`s that great big gated community in the sky or you know that easier to visit gated community with all the nifty little stone markers in it).

"Democrats don`t make laws that discriminate."

Really? They`ve been caught using the IRS to discriminate against Tea Party groups, They`ve used SWAT teams to terrorize organic farms, They`ve used the DOJ to prosecute a hispanic man that shot a thug in self-defense. I could go on and on, but think I`ve refuted your statement fully.

5Cats, I`m not the one who started talking politics in here! Or spreading lies. I`m stating facts to counter lies that others have stated, and I will be happy to delete my posts if the lies are deleted! I`ve got no problem with that! :-)

Not at all @Nageki! I`ve been asked (accused!) that a dozen times!
I care because everything the USA does? It effects Canada a LOT!
The USA is the 500 pound gorilla we Canadians live next to, we keep a CLOSE EYE on it!
So when I see y`all DESTROYING YOURSELVES I am alarmed! Horrified even!
5Cats, Democrats don`t make laws that discriminate.
@SmagBoy1: Are you IMPLYING that Republicans DO?

How does Obamacare (a 100% All-Dem Law) NOT discriminate?

WTF are you even talking about? This is a thread about a FICTIONAL BOOK! You`re spouting Pro-Obama LIES & PROPOGANDA??? Cheesus!

How`s that DEBT doing? The one Obama promised NEVER to raise? What? Huh?

There is no "faith-based civil war" in America. That`s not to say there is no media battle for the predominate culture in America, because there is.

There will never be an actual "Civil War" in America again. I believe we learned our lesson about that 150 years ago.

Besides, we`ve gone through these cultural swings before and will continue to. After this last hard swing to left has failed miserably, I do suspect they`ll be a swing back to the right soon.

I`m going to say this one more time, I will probably be deleted quickly, but I don`t care. @5cats, why do you care about American politics so much when you`re a Canadian? I`ve never understood that... Canada is way more liberal than the US. Even more liberal than the US liberals I`d say...

5Cats, Democrats don`t make laws that discriminate. They don`t make laws based on one specific religion. As for things being worse off, things as *significantly* better then when BHO took office! What do you means worse? The market is up, way up. Industrial and production indexes have improved every quarter for the last seven quarters. Real estate is up from it`s low point in 2008 in every single major market. Unemployment is down, income is up and BHO has seen the ACA passed, DOMA defeated, signed presidential orders mandated fair treatment of homosexual partners in hospital visitation and health advocacy, has pulled the vast majority of troops out of Iraq and many out of Afghanistan.

Has he been perfect? No. Not at all. But he`s done a great deal of good. You forget how bad it was.

USA Today Review Here

"But as a novel, Christian Nation falls flat. Its characters, both fictional and real-life politicians, are mere plot devices who give speeches."

Remember: this `novel` is set in the year 2029! It`s Science Fiction ffs...

Of course John McCain is still alive & well...

Because this book will be taken literally by so many leftists? I weep for the USA`s future.

Oh look! @SmagBoy1`s comment confirms my sorrow!

Yes there IS @SmagBoy1! Obama & the Democrats VS everyone else! Worship BHO or die!

HUGE EXERT HERE So you can sample this masterpiece for yourself!

Oh, also, Palin will never run for office again. Even if she did, she wouldn`t win the Republican ticket.

This is a rhetorical response to the recent popularity of George Orwell`s book 1984. The difference is, in 1984 Socialism is the root of evil. With the rise of Socialism in America, it only makes sense to attack Conservatives in an effort for long term "re-education"... kinda like what Orwell said would happen in his book! Open your eyes America! Before its too late...
