I wonder how many cars went into the drink from that ship.

At first I was thinking, "These idiots didn`t strap the cars down", then I seen all the broken straps on deck and noticed some of the cars were hanging off the side by the straps alone.

So I`m guessing old straps that broke under the strain of the heavy seas caused a chain reaction.

It`s the crews fault. I can only see a few webbing straps on the deck, and torn off bumpers. Meaning totally inadequate and incorrectly applied lashings. If I were the owner of those vehicles I`d be suing for damages.

A parking brake is no match for snow & ice on the deck of a ship in rough seas. Their tie down straps were either old & brittle or just not made to take a beating like this.

First off, this ship is NOT a `car transport`.

Many ships will take vehicles on top of their decks in order to make a little extra money. I`ve even seen it done on top of containers on container ships.

Makes me wonder just how often this happens... and how many vehicles are in oceans/seas now because of poo like this happening.
