Prosecution has not case.
Yesterday the lead cop testified he believed Zimmerman told the truth and he was pressured to arrest him anyway.

Funny enough this was admitted yesterday and the detective that initially said Z should be charged also said that Z was acting like someone who "Was telling the truth or lying" WTF? You know, all those posts about Florida in the past are starting to make sense.

@collegebound: it would be 100% admissible if the prosecution presented it. No chance in hell they will though!

There is already some question over "proper disclosure" to the point where the prosecution is ALREADY facing `Contempt of Court` charges which will be addressed after the end of the trial... it might be over this video? idk. No one knows.

There`s ways around that though! Depending on State Laws: The defense could summon the cops involved in the video and ask them questions about it: effectively entering the video into `evidence` for the jury to see...

BUT opinions are split on the chance of that working HERE, eh? The Judge has proven to be a `bung-hole` so far, in bed with the DA on almost every decision...

The way this has been handled by the media and politicians it should be a mistrial. Besides the overwhelming evidence here`s hoping he sues the crap out of media outlets for defamation too which he`s started the process for.

At this rate, with the prosecution continuing to prove the defenses case, this could be the shortest "Not Guilty" jury deliberation in history.

"Bottom line: If Zimmerman had not acted negligently, the incident would not have happened. "

Where did he act negligently?

@Capt: Seems like you, the media, and the federal prosecutor are going off of half-baked assumptions. Zimmerman has repeated these statements numerous times and under intense scrutiny. If he was lying, details would change. Nothing has changed in all this time. From what was said in this video and what has been said by eye witnesses and from what was heard in the 911 tapes, he could be easily found not guilty. Not guilty and innocent are worlds apart. But, U.S. law states that he cannot be convicted if there is reasonable doubt.

@Capt, I think the video is stating different. If he stated he lost the guy and was no longer `stalking him` and was merely walking to the other street for purpose of an address per the request of 911 and then attacked while walking away, well he`s within his rights to stand his ground.

If he walked up to TM and confronted and started getting his ass beat then he had no right to shoot.

That, ultimately, is the whole question.

Bottom line: If Zimmerman had not acted negligently, the incident would not have happened.
A point of law- paraphrased- goes something like this: When one acts in a negligent manner, there are foreseeable outcomes- you`re responsible for those, whether you intended them or not.
Zimmerman was armed- he went against regulations in doing so.
Zimmerman followed Martin around- again, against protocol AND the dispatchers advice.
Poor judgement and firearms are a bad mix, not a legal defense.

It is interesting to hear him tell the story. He seems to be pretty sure of what happened. I`m no expert, but from what I understand, if he was lying he would not have been able to be so specific about the details. Also it does appear that the witnesses also corroborate this story, as do the wounds he sustained.

@ chalket - the other side of the story is that all the evidence and witnesses confirm his version of events.

Okay, that`s his side of the story (I didn`t see anything new or conclusive), now let`s hear the other side. Oh, wait... we can`t, can we?

well, if that`s what really happened, this will be the first time 5Cats has convinced me of anything. Guess he was in his right to shoot.

Eh, perhaps he`s just a "tenor" but he sure has a high voice!
So much for the "experts" claiming the 911 calls were Martin calling for help, eh?

There`s various ways the defense can get this video introduced as evidence. Nearly all the -prosecution- witnesses have supported exactly what Zimmerman has said from the very beginning...
