You know, I pray every day to the Most Revered Flying Spaghetti Monster with much the same results. I`m starting to doubt his Supreme existence...

I don`t see that it helps to pray, but it doesn`t hurt either.

personally i dont think anyone should try to convince people that believe in a diety that they may be astray. No matter what belief structure they hang on to. But at the same time, it would be better if those that do, dont force others to hold true to what ever they believe in.

    just my two cents

This video isn`t convincing or interesting at all, because what an atheist would call luck, or the laws of probability, Suzie calls "God." I see no contradiction there. If I`m playing dice, I`m going to hope I roll the point number. If Suzie is playing dice, she would "pray" that she rolls the point number. We both have the same probability of winning, but where I call it luck, she calls it "God" - what`s the difference?

When doctors heal injuries or treat disease with medicine, Suzie says "thank God" and the Atheists say "thank science."

My dad (an Atheist) has actually muttered the phrase "Jonas Salk be praised!" and has a little framed photo of Watson and Crick above his desk where most people would have a religious icon.

    @LandoGriffin

Everyone hopefully knows that wishing for luck and wanting things to be a certain way has no impact on the outcome. Those who pray actually think it changes things. People might want to thank science that provided them with a cure, what would people thank god for? You try to draw lines connecting atheism and religion on a very superficial basis but do a great job showing the difference between the two.

Praying doesn`t hurt unless you forgo actual solutions with prayer in their place. Like all those children of parents in the Christian Science church who refuse hospital care for faith healing.

What I learned from this vid is that no matter what li`l Suzie was grateful. This world could use a whole lot more gratitude. Especially from the youth of today.

What I dislike hearing is the people that go on and on about how blessed they are and god shows its love by saving them from themselves but never thanking god for the random good things. If I was nonsecular I`d totally be thanking my deity for working it out that I got to see a daisy growing in the middle of the street. Or letting me see that "abandoned" police car at a local donut shop.

    THIS! VV

What I learned from this vid is that no matter what li`l Suzie was grateful. This world could use a whole lot more gratitude. Especially from the youth of today.

I`ll only add that Susie probably has a more optimistic outlook, a happier disposition, and a better sense of what really matters in life (hint: It`s not your iPhone) than some of her non-praying neighbors.

(Note that I said "some": Many atheists are great people, just as some Christians are horrible.)

An oldie, but still a classic. I`m sure it`s the work of Satan, his minions, etc., etc., but I`d love to send this to a couple of people I know were it not for the unholy commotion it would cause.

Written and produced by: people who DO NOT believe in Jesus!
Don`t believe me? it says so in the credits!

@Gerry1: The actual saying is: Trust in God, but don`t expect Him to do everything FOR YOU.

Mohammed said something similar. After one of his top Generals gave away all his possessions,
PM(pbuh) asked: What will you do now? How will you live?
General: Allah Will take care of me! Allah Akbar!
PM(pbuh): Don`t you think Allah has enough people to take care of already? Why do you make His work harder?

The General asked to get his stuff back... cute story!

@unmerciful Everyone hopefully knows that wishing for luck and wanting things to be a certain way has no impact on the outcome. Those who pray actually think it changes things.

You and I would hope they realize that, but look how many sports fans think their favorite professional team is winning because they are wearing their "lucky jersey" while watching on TV.

People might want to thank science that provided them with a cure, what would people thank god for?

For their recovery to good health? I`m not religious but I think religious people thank God for their health when they recover with the help of science and medicine.

she`s praying all wrong. there needs to be sacrifices like back in the day. i dont know about you, but i feel a hell of a lot better getting on a plane after making the appropriate sacrifices to the god of flying, and i never forget to make the appropriate sacrifices to the god of line ups when i go to the dmv.

They thank God that those smart, hard working people chose to work so hard to help others. Makes perfect sense to me!

Praying doesn`t hurt unless you forgo actual solutions with prayer in their place.

Debate 101: Regardless of the validity of your opponents arguments, make fun of them and mock them. It`s trickery, it`s cheap, but it`s highly effective.
