Put this on the cover....

But then that wouldn`t glamorize in a s****y attempt for publicity.

Who cares? It`s an insignificant rag staffed by out of touch, self important hipsters.

like some dude said in a video - making terrorists and mass murderers famous via the press is really not a way to discourage more happening. No-one wants to be forgotten

The "Real" August RS cover is despicable.
Hope they lose all their Boston subscribers.
Scratch that, ALL their subscribers.

@chalket: it is a "parody cover" which is a joke with a message. That message could be funny or serious, it depends on the reader, eh?

Thanks for the follow-ups @12chars!

My first impression of the `bomber cover` was: Bob Dylan?
Then I read: popular, promising student was failed by his family.
Nearly threw up! Talk about making excuses!

Speaking of excuse-making:
@chalket: You cannot tell the difference between "Rolling Stone" and an actual NEWS magazine(s)?
Between a "glamour shot" and a "mugshot"?
"Most dangerous man alive" vs "this kid is the real victim here!"

PS: Your middle 3 pics failed to link. Probably came from protected sites, eh?

I`d like to think (or at least hope) that most of us recognized that as a "joke" (it doesn`t have to actually be funny to be called a joke, does it?).

What I don`t understand is why the Tsarnaev cover is "the real one to be pissed off about"? Exactly what is the problem there? Is it really any worse than prior Rolling Stone covers featuring killers like Charles Manson

or GWB
?
(sorry, couldn`t help myself)

Are you just as pissed off at the Boston Herald?

How about when Time and Newsweek ran OJ stories?
Did that piss you off too?

And there shall be emotional bickering against a magazine that almost stand entirely alone in explaining how some of the financial elite (not millionaires) have looted the American population for more than a decade and left the middle class devastated - all while not being prosecuted, tried or convicted. Despite laundering money for the Mexican Sinaloa cartel and doing business with Al-Qaeda. Despite artificially driving up food prices hurting millions of poor and middle income families and much much more.

Good thing we have The Rolling Stone to offer a better informed perspective than the mostly imbecile main stream sources most people strictly rely on for their propaganda.

Most people unfortunately can`t make it through an 18 page article.

Funny,I said the same thing about Wall Street Journal. HUH. Only one of those publishers hacked dead soldier phone lines and broke into police computers.

Extremely poor taste in a desperate grab for attention from a dated dying magazine.
