You will find one nice, decent cop out of very 10,000 or so. The rest of them are pigs and pricks.

Inside that shield,in most of cases, you can find a repressed, splenetic and complex-ridden person that most probably was beaten when he was kid at school and that just want to find his stupid revenge against everyone or everything that pass under his nose. Sad people.

    How right you are @piperfawn!!

    Mass Shootings since 1982

The majority of the above list were committed by the very people you just described!

Nahhhh, we don`t need well trained police to be able to respond to such atrocities...

djwajda to get rid of those atrocities you must work on your society, not on training people to intervene when the atrocities has allready happen. The solution is in the prevention, not in an action done "after".

My god man you are so on the ball today. Again you`re absolutely right!

We need better options in the area of mental health in this country. Something that, somewhere along the lines in recent years government decided really wasn`t necessary. The result was facilities being closed and these people having nowhere to go. They then end up in jail or worse because of it.

How do I know this you ask yourself? Because of having to put said people in jail in the past instead of being able to transport them to a mental health facility that no longer existed!

@piperfawn, don`t get me wrong I admire your passion most of the time. However yet again you`re here worrying about `my society` when yours isn`t much better.

It`s not true that they are blurring the lines between police and military.

The military teaches you to love America and to love Americans; they teach you that your job is to protect Americans. Your enemy is someone else.

The enemies of police, on the other hand, are Americans. They do not prepare to combat foreign enemies; they prepare to combat you and me.

A large and powerful police force is much more dangerous than a large and powerful military.

I thought this article was spot on. Ultimately, the laws are what must be changed. Why are we putting so many innocents at risk for weed?

djwajda actualy i hate all societies in the present world, you can call me a misanthropist, but everywhetre i go i am unable to find a pure virgin society. The " American" way is predominant evrywhere. Don`t take it as an offence, maybe you must be proud of it.My society is just a pale copy of your`s,luckily or unluckily,is just a matter of point of views. I don`t pretend to own the truth, you? Your society?

I`ve made this point several times and pretty much as expected when I say it there`s little to no response. Show me a country with NO issues. Show me a country with NO problems within it`s government. I`ve never ever said the US was perfect and I never will.

You and I have gone back and forth and back again more than once on the topic of this thread. Am I a proud American? Yes. Am I proud of all the problems and government decisions? Of course not. Same can be said of law enforcement. Do I support each and every member of that community? No. Do I support the ones that do their jobs? Hell yes.

djwajda to get rid of those atrocities you must work on your society, not on training people to intervene when the atrocities has allready happen. The solution is in the prevention, not in an action done "after"

Why don`t you go ask the 2 hostages saved yesterday in Florida how they feel about law enforcement training?

djwajda the point is ...all societies have their issues but not all this societies pretend to impose their way to others. At the two hostages,i really don`t know the subject of this discussion but ,nevermind, i wish them every good, i will ask to if they prefere to be saved or that the situation never occurred.

I want you to read your own quote in my last post. Then I want you to read this link...

    Florida Shooting

Those 2 people they saved were not given the choice whether or not they could stay out of the situation.

Now based on what you said about not training to intervene ask yourself how many more would have had to die because this man was a psychopath and no police intervened because they hadn`t been trained to handle the situation.
