    Whether he ate the sandwich or not, he still can`t expect a refund for a product that he didn`t bring back. The same would apply at any retail business.

    Going to play devils advocate, even if he did consume the sandwich and was trying to get free food, if he returns it, the food get`s thrown away. both solutions are stupid. Have your free food the money was wasted anyway you look at it.

    While i understand her position...If you went to any decent restaurant and your burger was under cooked I`m pretty sure, for customer satisfaction, they would give you at least your meal for free.

    McDonald`s won`t do this though because how many people take their bad food back to complain? You should be taking it back purely because it doesn`t look anything like the burgers on their commercials or the menu list.

    I guess keyword there is decent.

    If I go to a store... and I buy a case of 12 bottled waters... then return to the store with 1 bottle of water and say "Hey this one bottle of water is clearly tainted. I demand a full refund for all 12 bottles of water." and do not bring back the other 11 bottles of water... there`s no reason on Earth why the store should refund me for the products I am not returning.

    HalfPintRoo: McD`s burgers are cooked on a grill; you can look past the clerks and see it in most of their restaurants. They`re also timed, so I expect their timer broke or a newbie mistaook a different timer for the grill`s

    A couple of things . . .

    First; A manager`s number one concern would be to keep the customer happy. After seeing how raw the sandwich was, that`s it. Game over. She should`ve refunded ALL of his money. No questions asked, apologizing profusely. I guarantee it would`ve kept the customer happy and he would`ve returned. You do not argue with a customer over a $6.00 tab. You fight the battles worth fighting and this was not one of them.

    Secondly; It is illegal to accept food back into the window or even back across the counter. It is a Board of Health violation. At least it is in Indiana.

    There`s an old saying my father used to tell me. "If you do a good job for someone, they`ll tell 10 people. If you do a bad job, they`ll tell 100.

    How many people do you think this customer managed to reach via the internet?

    Why would he post this video online when he is clearly in the wrong for demanding his money back for food that he is not returning? The cashier was proper and professional in offering a refund for the uneaten portion that was returned. He just seems insane, the way he keeps saying "It doesn`t matter" that he didn`t bring back the rest of the purchase that he wants refunded - of course it matters! You don`t get a refund for what you don`t return. "I threw it away" my ass.

    @gary you just dont have a clue do you. Witht he footfall and turnover mcdonalds have, they can afford to let one argumentative customer go.

    As for apologizing profusely, it`s freaking mcdonalds. Nobody gives a crap. Theyll go there regardless of complaints.

    How many people do you think this customer managed to reach via the internet?
    And how many of those people reached think he`s being a baby? I SURE DO!

    I`ve gotten incorrect orders at McDonalds before. Hell, I`ve gotten incorrect orders at almost every fast food restaurant. It`s part of life. If these people were geniuses, they wouldn`t be working at a fast food restaurant, would they? So one must expect to have their order jacked up every now and then.

    Ok, so he KNEW he was driving all the way back to return the sandwich and demand his money back for the entire order. He even says he knew they would refuse to give him all of his money without the rest of the food. So why would he throw the other food away? He said because he was pissed off... But the other food was ok. It was the burger he was pissed off at. He should have taken the larger portion of the order back for a refund and thrown the burger away if that were the case and gotten a bigger refund. He took a picture of the burger, he could have just shown it to the lady at the drive thru.... I think he ate the other food

    I worked at McDonald`s at one point. It`s corporate policy to only refund or replace that which is brought back. They aren`t going to refund you $15 worth of food that you may have eaten because one burger was wrong.

    That`s not the point. The food was raw. That too is a health code violation. But the bigger problem for the manager is her crew not caring about the product they serve.

    He is so NOT in the wrong, you f***wits. That would turn your stomach if you got that. If you got it served in a restaurant you would kick up holy hell. I see her point that he may have eaten the other stuff but the company makes millions per day. She should have told him she would take it further for him the next day. That little courtesy would`ve earned them a lot of kudos.

    Are you all f.ucking serious? There`s a pretty f.ucking big difference between "oh my burger`s got ketchup on it even though I asked for it plain" and "oh, this restaurant served me something that COULD`VE MADE ME EXTREMELY ILL." I don`t care where you work, if you serve me a f.ucking health hazard, getting ALL my f.ucking money back is the LEAST I`d expect in return. Have some f.ucking standards you lunatics

    I agree with the two below me... whilst he should have taken the lot back, she shouldn`t have quibbled bearing in mind they`d given him raw meat in at least one of his burgers.

    I think I`d have just said `ok if you`re going to be a hard ass about it, i don`t want the partial refund so give me back my burger and receipt so that I can take it to the food standards guys tomorrow......they`ll probably find nothing wrong, but their drating about and hoop-jumping will cost you a lot more than what you`re refusing to refund right now.`

    I once went to a restaurant with my family and some friends. I ordered a seafood plate. Everyone got there food but me, I sat patiently and waited for 30 minutes when my food finally came out. It was cold in the center, ice cold. They took it back and apologized and brought it back 20 minutes later. Everyone at my table was done eating, they apologized profusely and didn`t charge for any of my families food.

    Because of that, we went back several more times and enjoyed it thoroughly.

    She shouldn`t have argued with him at all. The burger was RAW. All she did was piss him off even more and that IS NOT good customer service. All that arguing over $6 worth of a refund?

    If I was her boss she`d, at the very least, lost several days off work, and whomever barely cooked that burger would be retrained or fired. Restaurants have lost their licenses for less, that RAW burger could`ve killed him.

    Many years ago, I worked at Hardees, before they were bought by Carl`s Jr. (in the early 90`s). We NEVER argued with a customer like this, and if we had it would`ve resulted in being fired.

    And even though it was minimum wage, I had pride in my job. NEVER served cold fries, if they were 10mins old then they were too old. If the customer had to wait for good hot fries, so be it. Better that than get complaints. That`s how it should be everywhere.

    Expect quality of any kind from McDonalds and you get exactly what you deserve. I don`t think any of you can argue against the entire franchise being a cesspool of greed over public good. It is amazing that crap is even allowed to be called food.

    I bought a meal and drank the soda and ate the fries before getting home then got ready to eat my sandwich only to see it wasn`t what I ordered. So it`s possible for him to not realize his sandwich was raw until after he at and drank everything else. There`s no paw that says food has to be eaten in a certain order. Give the man a full refund for the unconvince.

    I used to work in fast food. For something like raw food, we`d refund the order, remake, plus probably provide something extra (desserts). If they didn`t bring it back, would still offer a replacement for another time. The whole equal return for refund only really applied to the chronic complainers.

    There is a major difference between raw and incorrect. I expect incorrect from maccas, so I check the bag. I expect food past the hold time. I do not expect raw, and since that is a lawsuit waiting to happen, you do not let the customer walk away unhappy.
