Saw a typhoon at an air show recently, and those things are f*cking mental. What did these twats expect, to be showered with a cloud of rainbows and daisies?

That was not in any way a "normal" approach.
------
Pretty normal, I have a few weeks every year at Pendine sands in west Wales where the Army practice landing and taking off on the beach.
Biggest one I have seen was the C17 Globemaster (think its called that)

came down about 20 feet off the trees and landed,
circled the beach and powered up and roared off again across the sands and headed towards Carmarthen

"really ticks me off that the RAF had to apologize for this. Stop standing at the end of a drating runway people! jeeeesus..."

I know Waddington well and was based a couple of miles down the road at another base. The RAF even built a plane spotters carpark and viewing area next to the road to give people a really good viewing spot of planes coming in to land. As you can see here though, some idiots choose not to use it.

It`s the same as the dicks who stand next to racetracks and rally courses. If you get hurt, tough s***.
