I noticed that there are very few cars, but the ones they have are quite nice -- Mercedes and BMWs. It rather mirrors their society: very few are doing very well, while everyone else does without.

@Ani187 - Yeah, that place is crazy, it doesn`t even seem real! I think it was Jon Stewart who made a joke about them where he showed a black & white picture and said, "Don`t adjust your tv screens, everything in North Korea is actually black & white!" I kind of want to go there to see it for myself, but I doubt that will ever happen. I asked my brother about it, he was in the Air Force and spent 2 years in South Korea, told me stories about being at the DMZ and how the guards on either side just stand there staring at each other all day & night. It`s sad and creepy how brainwashed those people are.

Meanwhile Kim Jong Un eats Chinese melons, Uzbek caviar, Czech beer, Thai papayas and Danish pork, and is currently ballooning over 200 pounds. Had a 7 million dollar Yacht built, recommended 28 hairstyles for his people and added to his collection of expensive Nike sneakers.

...Yea, North Korea is a lot different these days.

@dm2754: I have to agree with @whodat6484, North korea still has numerous death camps, They still threaten other countries with pre-emptive nuclear attacks, they still threaten to take over parts of south korea, they still test their nerve agents like VX gas on prisoners, they still train their doctors on political prisoners at camp 22 with out anesthetics. He was involved with the bombardment of Yeonpyeong and the Cheonan sinking to strengthen his military credentials.

Since the death of Kim Jong-il in December 2011, around 20,000 people have starved to death in South Hwanghae Province. Driving some to cannibalism, with the claims that one man dug up his grandchild`s corpse to eat and another boiled his child and ate the flesh.

"North Korea is a lot different these days"

Ok, keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. The fact of the matter is, it`s the same old sh*t, different day in North Korea.

If you really want to see how f*cked up these people are watch the VICE documentary "Inside North Korea." Whenever a tourist visits the country they`re assigned a tour guide and followed by the "secret police" If that`s not weird enough, their ENTIRE visit is basically scripted and they think people are too f*cking stupid to figure that out, I guess.

I`ll bet I can get my wife to buy that ultra-sexy "North Korean Traffic Cop" outfit for Halloween. I`m a lucky guy!

This is staged for the tourists.
The people driving are actors. or work for the secret police.
It sounds insane, but it`s true.

There are almost no civilians with cars in NK and the few people that have cars can`t drive them because there is no fuel to buy.

Despite this NK still employs full time traffic wardens.
