Goddam Jake_Justus, you sure know how to make sense. I never thought of Gomez Addams that way... you`ve changed my life.

Mr. Rogers also told them to be honest and that lesson didn`t stick so I don`t think we can blame him.

I blame gays. Homo`s are responsible for everything bad.

Forget Mr. Rogers. The best role model for a boy in the 60`s was Gomez Addams -- a cool guy who was never fazed by any problem, indulged in off-the-wall hobbies, lived in a mansion and had a great rapport with his sexy wife.

@Smagboy1, I think I know how you feel... I was all set to get angry about the content but then thought to myself, "It`s Fox `News`...".

If there`s a bigger joke on this planet than Fox, I`ve not heard of it.

"The world owes you nothing!" (Unless you were born into money)

The world owes nobody anything even if you`re born into money.... being born into money just means you can buy yourself everything you THINK the world owes you, and then more.

Well it`s a shame that they don`t like Mr. Rogers because he loves them just the way they are!

Mr. Rogers was saint-like! Watch his lifetime achievement award acceptance speech!

It`s funny to me how much FOX news acts like they are all for 100% Christianity, the war on Christmas and acting like Christians are under attack. Yet they have no problem attacking one of the most devoutly Christian and humble men to ever try to bring some friendship and education to a world of violence and depravity. If you arent using Christianity to further one of FOX`s political agendas then you are evil I guess.

I think it cuts both ways. For a lot of spoiled brats who never worked for or did without anything, telling them they`re "special" for doing nothing at all probably made them worse people. On the other hand, for poor kids in ghettos and trailer parks, who never even saw their fathers and had to go to bed hungry toward the end of the month, Mr. Rogers probably made their miserable lives a little bit more bearable.

I think it`s bull to blame the failings of a generation on any one source.

It`s true that many people aren`t special. Most people are forgettable. Rogers` message isn`t necessarily bad. In Asia I see a lot of people without initiative, who don`t speak up, who don`t want to stand out from the crowd. They make good workers. At the same time, you don`t want loudmouths with excessive entitlement, but these are easy to weed out. What you want is hard workers who`ll speak up.

*Goes into full Colbert mode* "Next on the friendly friends at Fox and friends, Mohandas Ghandi, 20th century dickhead or *The* 20th century dickhead. I can`t wait to hear what blond haired guy who is not Steve Doocy has to say about this one."

My Goddess, is there any clearer way to shout "GET OFF MY LAWN!!" than this?

If you`re not happy with the world, blame it on someone else. It`s easy to find a scapegoat who can`t defend himself now because he`s dead.

I have been a fan a Fred Rogers since he was on "The Children`s Corner" with Josie Carey. Please read "The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers" by Amy Hollingsworth to get a better understanding of the man. When I attempt to help drug addicts, murders, rapists etc. in my work as a prison counselor I often refer back to the lessons. He was a master of encouraging people live a great life. The best place to start is during childhood.

Okay, see, I posted this because it is patently absurd, and so much so that I thought it would be worth a laugh.

There is nothing, and I repeat NOTHING wrong with promoting self esteem and self worth. Mr. Rogers was a god among men.

Mr. Rogers was a small tooth on a very big gear turning out kids who got trophies for losing every soccer game, cash for report cards full of Cs, and expectations far beyond what was commensurate with their abilities. You can`t blame a generation of people with oversize egos on one man.

Way to go, HolyGod. You are now the opposite of Mr. Rogers! And here I thought I was special. ;-)

HolyGod,
Do people watch it because they`re effing tools, or do they become effing tools because they watched it?

I agree with fox! Why am I not a Intergalactic Police Officer yet?!!!

My childhood dreams was nothing but pointless hopes... Now the only thing that keeps me happy is my autoerotic asphyxiation habbit.
