@Sonsglow
It`s correct, though.

The most annoying part of this, for me, is the really odd use of "haven`t."

I was expecting much worse than that. I read this same comparison 10 years ago and it was a lot more dire.

Snopes already did a fact check and most of this isn`t accurate.

If the world was a village of 100 people, music would die a dreadful, agonising death!

The computer one really surprised me...so much so I`m not entirely certain I believe it lol. But I suppose it`s possible. Actually they probably mean "own" one not "Have easy access to." As in a family computer.

OK! I`ll stop now!

Read Beowulf Online
Lots of versions are available, modernized ones are much easier to understand... notes about historical relevance are a must!

A search for "Grendel cute" images brings up very little.
This one`s cute though:

Not exactly sure how it`s "Grendel" or Beowulf related however...

"It`s all fun and games until someone loses an arm..."

@MeGrendel: I made the error of reading "Grendel" first and didn`t know WTF was going on! Then I read Beowulf and it made a lot of sense.

As for this "chart":
If 13 people live in North America...
And half of North Americans have college degrees...
Why does only 1 person in the whole world have a degree???
(@paperduck: You are certainly correct!)

Also: Adding Europe & North America together: Wouldn`t more than 7 people have a computer?

@ MeGrendel: LOL at "cute monster."

Well, I`m sure with your trained graphic eye, you`ll find something good. In all seriousness, I find it interesting how much someone`s avatar affects my reading of their posts. For example, I find myself reading CrakrJak`s posts much more sympathetically since he recently changed his avatar, the previous version being, as he himself described it, "ominous."

Also, if the world were a village of 100 people, all of these issues would be so much more easily solved.

@5Cats.

Finally, someone who gets Grendel.

@Squrlz4Sale

Yeah, the avatar is missleading. Didn`t mean it to be. I`ve always been a fan of Beowulf, always felt sorry for Grendel.

I really like`d Grendel`s side of teh story, too, as told by John Gardner.

I`ll put some thoughts into a new avatar. Maybe a cute monster?

@ 5Cats: I`ve never read *Beowulf*; clearly I need to.

@Squrlz4: Grendel is a tragic character! One of the greatest of all time! He`s not a "villain" eh?
But he was big & scary! And very, very angry too. Since his mother was a dragon, and his father a human? He looks like that.

Spoiler: But he had every right to be angry! And Beowulf accidentally supports the wrong (evil) side in the fight.

@MeGrendel: Genius! Pure genius!

You forgot a thin Blue stripe (Smurfs) and a "Rainbow Stripe"... But got a Green one in there ;-) Genius!

Wow, I own computers that I don`t even use anymore. I once gave a friend a `brand new in the box` laptop that I won in a drawing. I feel like... I don`t know, like I`m a 1%-er or something!

Now excuse me, my butler has informed me that the helicopter is waiting to take me to my yacht.

@ MeGrendel: Kudos on your graphic design skills. I didn`t realize you had talents in that area until recently. I like you more now. LOL.

Any chance you could find a less creepy avatar? Honestly, I thought you were making a statement that you are deliberately trying to be a troll. (You aren`t, are you?)

Why is literacy represented by glasses? Reading doesn`t make you short-sighted. That`s a myth. How is it helping literacy by associating it with visual impairment?

In order to NOT be missleading (i.e. biased), shouldn`t the Zebra look more like this?
