A Brief Sociological Experiment [Pic]

As a female, I can agree with this. Show up without any makeup and people assume I"ve contracted the black plague

... So, if you don`t paint yourselves up, girls, you`re going to be taunted? I`m not sure what the point of this (pointless) post is.

Without make up she does look terrible, her skin is awful and what`s going on around her eyes? Has she been beaten or does she have allergies?

No real comparison can be made if all of the photos are not taken under the same conditions.

The "No Make Up" photo is under completely different lighting and exposure than the other three.

I never tell someone they look tired or sleepy but I will always drunk compliment girls, or my customers if they look particularly nice that day?

I love putting on makeup, it`s an artistic outlet for me considering I`m not particularly good at sewing or painting or sculpting or drawing yet enjoy being creative. I know I don`t need it, but I didn`t put it on for you :P I WANT it.

I rarely wear make up, I do a grubby jobs, no one cares how I look and I just smear it all over my face by lunch anyway. Life is too short- I save it for going out, then I look good for an hour after which the downward slide into Alice Cooper begins...

The "no makeup" photo is taken with markedly different lightning conditions to the other ones.

So yeah, this is a sociological experiment - she`s biasing it to steer it towards supporting the position she chose before doing it.

I`m going to put on dirty sweats, then jeans and a t-shirt, then a polo and khakis and finally a tailored suit just to see how many comments I get. Then at the end I`m going to use my data to make a statement against the objectification of men and call it a "sociological experiment". Try not basing your self worth on other peoples comments on your attractiveness.

When I used to wear make up everyday in high school I came to school without it once and people yelled "what happened to your eyebrows? OMG you shaved off your eyebrows?!" ME: "no, I just don`t have eyebrows really naturally. I draw them on". Apparently I wore makeup naturally enough for people to believe that I had nice eyebrows. Now I never wear make up. I hate it.

She`s gorgeous without the makeup.

This experiment is flawed, and you can see it in the results. Her everyday makeup got no comments because that`s how she looks every day. She got comments the other days because she looks different. Normally, she must use some sort of foundation to give herself a uniform skin tone.

So, if you go from having a uniform skin tone, to looking kind of washed out and blotchy *in comparison,* people are going to think you`ve gotten sick. That`s not how you usually look, and the difference is what`s noticeable.

If you want people to stop commenting, just don`t wear makeup every day, and people will see that as `normal you.` It`s like when someone who wears glasses all the time takes them off, and it`s weird. Humans pay attention to details on the face and conflate them with identity.

Um for guys that don`t know. Women comment all the time on each others appearance. It is totally normal for random strangers in the bathroom or on the street to say they like something or "wish they could get away with wearing that" don`t like something.

Okay, so, to continue the sociological experiment, let`s see if it was male or females doing the commenting. I`ll bet it was almost exclusively females.

It would help the first picture if she took it without sickly lighting.

Men manage perfectly well without make-up but women have to trowel on their masks and hide the real them from the world.

I find just a bit of mousse gives my facial fur a radiant glow without too much effort.

She held back on the Full Face O`Slap.
She could`ve done much more. The nose, chin,
more on the eyes.

Any look nice at appropriate times.
Heavy makeup is for going-to-the-opera type events.

Personally I think she looks great with no make-up, but she`s very pretty to begin with so that helps.
This post reminds of `Survivor`, where we see people who havn`t been grooming themselves for a month, and then the women show up on the jury with a ton of make-up and the man show up with silly facial hair and hairdos, and all I can think is "Why would you do that to yourselves? You looked better when you were sun-burned, sleep-deprived and starving than you do right now"

The far left pic looks like she`s been rubbing her eyes for the past hour or had an allergic reaction. What do you think people would say.
