I had a snake that had ticks when I bought her. NOTHING Like that though. They were actually hard to see because their arses sticking out look almost identical to their scales. VERY hard to spot. Just soak them in an inch-deep bathtub of warm water with a capful of listerine ... and it WON`T GET LIKE THAT!!!!!

I used to find lizards and turtles that had ticks on them and pluck them off. It`s really sad when they`re tiny babies with ticks.

I can`t tell what snake it is, but I`ve seen this to a lesser effect on garter snakes that wake up from brumation. They will huddle together with other garter snakes, usually in some sort of mammal hole, like a old fox den or mousehole. The ones that have their head pointed to the open air, sometimes have ticks or mites that ventured in and latch on over the winter.

By the looks of them and because I can`t see any with a white star on their heads (lone star tick). This appears to be the Rocky Mountain Wood tick or "Dermacentor andersoni." Nasty little poos that carry a bunch of diseases. Looks like one found this snake and layed her eggs on him. They hatched, and developed probably in less than 3 months given the amount of ticks (meaning this was probably more southern climate), and this is the result.

But thats just my guess, does anyone have a link to where this happened?

poor snake :( I`m guessing this had to be an abused pet that was trapped in a cage, therefore unable to avoid being bitten or roll around to get them off
