Cop was too quick with the taser-fact

Moron in truck should have stayed inside the vehicle. Said moron also should have stopped at whatever accident scene he was involved instead of being well...a moron.

@turdburglar
I`m curious what you do for a living? Ever been a cop? If not how can you say it`s not a dangerous profession?

The driver deserved it; the cop clearly said, `put your hands on the truck` as soon as the driver was getting out of the truck... and instead of doing it the guy asked questions, which shows HE had time to place his hands properly. He didn`t, cops just can`t take chances (5Cats is right) and so, tasered driver.
AND if the cop is right and the guy fled the scene, failed to pull over for the cop... the driver`s lucky he didn`t get worse!!

@turdburglar - I was always taught if you are the only one laughing, it isn`t funny. There isn`t exactly any subtle cues in your responses to make anyone think you are joking. You seem pretty serious.

As far as your other insults, I still don`t care. Keep them coming. Whatevs.

I simply think you are a fatass. In real life I judge each person as an individual, but on the internet I can`t be so specific. As a whole I do think most cops are non-nice individuals. What I said was OBVIOUSLY joking around, but you must be too fat...I mean stupidly obese...I mean obtuse to realize it. I care about your opinion as much as you care about your health. Keep being a judgmental glutton, it`s the christian way. P.S. Your god is a pussy.

elkingo - Just out of curiosity...between your current and last avatar, who has the bigger titties?

About the comment you just made, I`d like to say I`m glad I was able to piss you off. Although I was OBVIOUSLY joking it isn`t hard to piss off a straight, fat, christian, conservative from
Kuntucky...there is a lot to work with there.

Also...are you that Francis guy from youtube that gets pissed off and breaks his xbox? If not, I may have found your long lost brother.
Your bro?

"The second the cops lights go on you should SLAM ON THE BRAKES or find the busiest intersection near by and stop in the middle of it. Roll up the windows, turn on the heat, and fart. That way it is waiting for them when the have you roll down the window. Pretend to be hard of hearing and ask them to repeat every command at least twice. Screw those guys."

Dumb. As. Sh|t.

Crakr - Are we even watching the same video? He didn`t have time to respond before being tased. Tasers shouldn`t be used unless he is being aggressive or trying to flee at the moment. Stow the "he didn`t pull over, he was in a hit and run" garbage. That has nothing to do with what happened when the cop confronted him, and I don`t even see any proof that the cop wasn`t lying.

Wov, over-react much? He didn`t have time to comply. They should just change the rules, everyone gets tased.

"I don`t like how quickly officers will resort to the taser."

This guy didn`t pull over, was involved in a hit-n-run, then jumped out of his truck and failed to follow the cops order to get on the ground. The policeman has no idea if the guy is armed, drunk, high, or what have you. It`s better this guy was tazed, in days past he would`ve been beaten down or even possibly shot.

peakingo - I wasn`t commenting specificly on this video, because it doesn`t show what happened before hand. In this case, I DO think the cop went for the taser too quickly. This guy wasn`t resisting. He didn`t have time to. Tasers are more dangerous than most people realize.

Don`t ever gimme the "it`s dangerous career" line when it comes to cops. It`s their job.

Swaywithme - You are a good lookin gal, so it doesn`t matter that much. It wouldn`t hurt to pull out the ta-tas.

For everyone else:

The second the cops lights go on you should SLAM ON THE BRAKES or find the busiest intersection near by and stop in the middle of it. Roll up the windows, turn on the heat, and fart. That way it is waiting for them when the have you roll down the window. Pretend to be hard of hearing and ask them to repeat every command at least twice. Screw those guys.

@turdburglar, I get it`s not pretty but remember this guy put himself in this position by evading the police in a 15 minute chase after a hit and run.

The police officer probably has a family that cares for him and worried about his life in this very dangerous career. He has no idea what this guy is capable of. Why risk his life.

@ Swaywithme: Unless the situation is highly unusual, I`d advise pulling over within 10 seconds. The reason I say this is that most police officers are trained to wait on hitting the lights until you`re in an area where you can pull over safely. If they`re patrolling the road, they probably know it better than you do and are able to make that judgment from experience. If you really aren`t comfortable, I`d pull over first and then, through a cracked window, ask the officer if both of you can drive ahead to a more populated area.

If you keep driving without explanation, even slowly, you`re going to make the officer`s blood pressure go sky high. He`ll be wondering if he`s stumbled upon a driver with an outstanding warrant or a driver who is intoxicated--or any of a dozen other worrisome scenarios.

My two cents at least. Any current or ex-police officers here to comment?

I don`t like how quickly officers will resort to the taser. It`s not "non lethal" it is considered "less lethal" which means that they can (and do) kill people.

Regardless, shooting electrified darts into someones body should be cause for more restraint than most cops use.

I was always under the impression that you have the right to pull over in an area that you will be safe? As long as the driver isn`t using excessive speed to "escape" they can choose to pull over somewhere more populated like a gas station.

Or maybe this is just one of those urban legend tips they`re always throwing at me so I can make sure some guy doesn`t rape me.

Guy did a hit and run, he was in the wrong. I can understand the cop being pissed of, but the use of force was excessive and considering the fact that tasers can be lethal, unwarrented.

now throw that driver in jail. Idiot.

The best part is AFTER the Tasering! When the truth comes out it`s a whole different picture.

The accident happened 15 minutes ago: "I was just driving home to report it"

The cops were following him for several blocks.

He did NOT cooperate. For all the cops knew he could be stoned, drunk, crazy or all of the above.

I`m glad he calmed down though. I`m also glad it was recorded.

Can you tase someone who is standing at a distance and not being threatening? I thought a taser was supposed to take the place of a gun when possible, not take the place of asking twice.
