Link: Summer Camp In Palestine - A Gaza Strip camp for boys (only) age 6-16. ``Kumbaya`` is not on the song list.

See? Just like Boy Scouts! They are taught love and peace and harmony!
    And how an AK-47 works...

So while America suspends kids for "poptart pistols"? Palestinian kids are learning how to operate rifles, rockets and bombs!

The Religion of Peace! Indistinguishable from us!

"Aside from technical skills, camp organizers also promise religious lessons."

    And:

"AFP reported that the summer camp organizers expect the participation of thousands between the ages of six and 16."

So it`s not "just a couple of kooks" it`s big and with the full blessing of the PLO...

@5Cats: "See? Just like Boy Scouts!"

Sort of actually, sry to say, the explorer scouts have stuff like this in Imperial Arizona. But they do border patrol and hostage rescue.

There is also a separate special forces camp. The camp is split into two teams and you hold a mock 7 day battle/war, you use all the scouting skills plus added skills you learn from real navy seals, you even have to disarm mock bombs. I can`t find it on the web strangely though, maybe someone else can.
I really wanted to go to it as a scout but by the time my troop was set to have the money it was going to be 2 months after my 18th birthday. I was really pissed.

In the Boy scout camps no one is to be taken hostage, like in pakistan, but the idea is the same. War is a reality all nations will face now and far into the future. Boys also love to fight and the more real the better. Society will use this, as it always has, to better prepare kids for the realities of the future.

That`s what happens when you steal their land, homes and property.

@Richanddead: Thx! I knew someone would bring up actual scout or Cadet camps which are "similar", but I wasn`t about to go researching them.

I know that various "camps" in the free world have similar situations BUT:
No real guns, especially in the HANDS of CHILDREN.
    No 6 year olds.
No religious indoctrination (that I`m aware of).

Teaching youths how to scout, secure and protect is a LOT different than what goes on in Gaza...

@paperduck: So my ancestry gives me the right to commit terrorism? My people had their land, money and homes stolen, repeatedly! PLUS they got sent to death camps AND starved by the millions...

    Not Jewish! Guess again!

5cats: In their case it`s not their ancestry, it`s THEM. Kicked out of their homes anywhere from 40 years ago until last week (or whenever the last round of bulldozing occurred).

I have never met a single person who will sing kumbaya after getting their land confiscated. Who are "your people"? They got kicked out of their homes and just left? never let out a peep?

@paperduck: Israel bulldozes the homes of known suicide bombers. A lot fewer S-Bombers these days and guess what? A LOT fewer bulldozings.

Egypt got control of the border with Gaza a little while back and... bulldozed Palestinian houses! To try at stop attacks and tunnels.

We were Mennonites (Until after Great Great Grandpa married a Catholic woman). Germans who lived in the Ukraine at the invitation of the Tsar. Pacifists, eh?
Driven out of Germany by religious persecution.
Happy in the Ukraine until the Tsar changed his mind about being nice to them.
Many fled to North America around 1880-1910.
Those that didn`t got butchered. First by Lenin, then even worse by Stalin...

@5cats: "No real guns... No religious indoctrination (that I`m aware of)."

You`re right that in the simulations no real guns are used (although low caliber real guns are used marksman competitions) and if I remember correctly you had to be over 15 so you`re right there. But you have to be religious, it can be any religion, but Boy scouts are not supposed be an atheist or agnostic. I was agnostic, and people sort of knew it, no one ever challenged me on it or gave me a conversion talk, but I couldn`t become an Eagle scout because I did not have a pastor or priest whos church I belonged to and could sign my paperwork for me. I still completed my Eagle project and paperwork, and my troop leaders sent it all off, but National didn`t approve it. Didn`t care much, didn`t need to have their approval, I still had fun.

@paperduck: That accusation first began after the anglo-egyptian war. The British wanted control of the Suez canal and Palestine was seen as a buffer against the Ottoman Empire.

At this time in Palestine the Muslim religious leaders, even the Mufti, were openly friendly with the Jews. Seeing them as a path to modernization and a buffer against becoming a puppet state.
In May 1918, Dr. Chaim Weizmann and Hussein of the Hejaz met in Cairo where the latter spoke of mutual cooperation between Jews and Arabs in Palestine. In early l9l9 a Treaty of Friendship was signed to provide for "the closest possible collaboration in the development of the Arab state and the coming Jewish Commonwealth of Palestine. On March 3, l9l9, another Arab leader, Feisal, son of Sherif, wrote: "We wish the Jews a most hearty welcome home."

Briton saw this as a way to erode their influence. They began crafting anti-Jewish policy and propaganda and even forbid Jews from moving there because "economic capacity of the land could not support more than a million people." Yet if you paid the British Government 500 pounds per person they would let you in but they had to pay 75% of all your money in taxes to the British occupiers.

This lead people like David Ben-Gurion, leader of The Histadrut trade union (encompassing 75% of the entire Jewish Palestine labor force) to write "under no circumstances must we touch land belonging to fellahs or worked by them." He advocated helping liberate them from their oppressors. "Only if a fellah leaves his place of settlement, should we offer to buy his land, at an appropriate price."

In the The Hope-Simpson Report, John Simpson wrote "They paid high prices for the land, and in addition they paid to certain of the occupants of those lands a considerable amount of money which they were not legally bound to pay."

If you want to know who stole the palestinians land it was Winston Churchill. In 1921 he severed 76% of Palestine, nearly 35,000 square miles to create an Arab entity, Transjordan. The borders were chosen so that the British could build and control an oil pipeline from their Mandate of Iraq through Transjordan to seaports in the Palestine Mandate. In 1946, the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan became an independent country recognized by the UN, with a few protests from Russia. Most people just call it Jordan though.
