Racial Profiling - Is It Exaggerated?

A bike theft with a white guy vs black guy vs pretty girl. Who do you think the bystanders stopped or helped?

There might have been a different outcome if the girl wasn`t dressed semi-sexually. Let her wear long jeans and a loose (but still well fitting shirt) and pull her hair into a ponytail and baseball cap.

I would`ve had more respect for this if they showed if the white guy got into trouble dressed slovenly too.

I find it really funny how a lot of white people in here refuse to see how it could be racial profiling.

I don`t ever recall seeing a black guy on a bike.

Then whys the black dude wearing his hat like a special ed student and also speaking like one?
Why am I not surprised that McGovern said that?
Because I have the balls to be honest and don`t try to blame everything in racism.

Now go watch the show bait car and tell me how that`s racist........

And what always comes to my head is what if the people confronting or not confronting are just those types of people?

If those who didn`t say anything happened across the black boy, maybe they still wouldn`t have said anything because thats who they are.

And if the same people who did say something came across the white boy, maybe they still would have said something because that`s just who they are.

Too many variables for me.

DuckBoy: Are you kidding us? "Oh, sure, officer, if the white had a longer t shirt I would have been all over his ass." This was pure subconscious racial profiling. I`m not saying that a lot of people might have experience that would influence that (even the black women couldn`t believe a white boy would steal a bike), but the point here is pretty undeniable,

I disagree, @Evil_Eye.
Though dressed similarly, they were not dressed the same.
The white guy`s clothing was near for fitting. A t-shirt that wasn`t all that baggy, coming to his mid-buttocks, or so; his jeans weren`t baggy either.
The black guy`s clothing was baggy beyond baggy. His t-shirt reached his knees, his pants could fit three of him in them.

While I doubt it would necessarily have affected the outcome. They may have been "similarly" dressed but the black guys pants don`t fit him and his shirt hangs down past his butt...I might make a judgement based on that.

Sadly I predicted and am not surprised :-( I don`t even think it would have to be a "pretty/skinny/blond" girl. It never fails, every time I go to Lowe`s to get dirt or something particularly heavy men either offer help or look at me very strangely when I do it myself.

I guess what I mean is, regardless of what a woman is doing men instinctively want to help or think she is incapable...typically that is.

Perhaps it could have something to do with him being dressed as a hood rat!
