Yeah, it`s way better if the pedophiles` rape victims keep the rapist`s love child, you know, as a souvenir...

Right, because a girl who is raped should have to keep it? WTF? For evidence?

I agree that children should not be able to get prescription meds without parental knowledge.

"Right, because a girl who is raped should have to keep it? WTF? For evidence?"
And the liberals always play the rape card.
Use after rape makes up a small, small percentage. It`s about taking away knowledge/consent/control from parents. Sorry, this is an adult topic and it needs an adult to make the decision.

So... what is different for pedos? Now when they knock up little girls, they can send the little girl to go get plan b instead of going in for it themselves? They make it sound like now the pedos will stock up on it when the pedo could always get it. Let the raping begin! Now I don`t have to go into CVS to cover my tracks! Now my victim can take care of it herself! Doesn`t make sense.

I couldn`t watch all of it, too much stupid. As soon as he said "Of any age" I fumed. That is incorrect. You have to be at least 15 if I recall correctly. I had read an article about it a while back. I believe it also said that you simply didn`t need a Rx, I don`t remember it saying anything about parental consent. I believe that parents should know, definitely, if their child being sexual active so that they can help make sure their teen is going about it safely, but in the U.S. most parents would probably tell the teen that they are evil, have sinned, and must repent by being locked away in a metaphorical tower. The U.S. has such a backwards understanding and belief system about sex. It`s absolutely primitive, and I hope one day that this attitude will change. But with people like these in this video, it will be a long while away.

If you require parental consent the kids are going to be too scared to get it, for fear of getting into trouble. They will likely take their chances and hope not to get preggers. Then you end up with unwanted babies and abortions, which is what plan B is supposed to prevent.

I have known many cases of girls, even over the age of consent, whose lives would have been in real danger had their parents known they were sexually active or even thinking about it. Most, but not all, were from the moslem community.

`If my dad finds out he`ll kill me.` is sometimes literally true.

I agree LordJIm, sensible parents have their children hooked up to a supply of contraceptive before they need them ( bowl in the hall, bowl in the bathroom) and make sure their kids know all they need to- but many parents won`t and will hit the ROOF if they are asked. One of my daughters friends was 15 and her Mother objected to the free condoms they gave out at school in `that` class. Guess who I had to take to the doctors a ew months later.?

    Gerry,
I have to admit, I`m pretty liberal. I`m also a father of two teen girls (I started late!) and so the ruling makes me somewhat uncomfortable. But I`m also an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who`s done C-Sections on 13 year olds and abortions on 12 year olds. In an ideal world, Plan-B would be unnecessary. In a non-complex world 100% adult approval for purchase would be the way to go. This is a complex world with difficult issues and sexual stresses for adults, teens, and fertile pre-teens. And, yes, there are rapes (both forced and statutory) with resultant pregnancies where the victim should be permitted to interfere with that possibility and not have family or society dictate that she carry the pregnancy with its attendant physical and psychological risks, including the rapist demanding visitation rights (!).

Yes, I know this last part is a hotly debated issue in some circles but most of those are religious circles and I truly believe that one person`s religious convictions should not dictate how another lives his or her life.
As a dad, I would certainly want my girls to come to me first. As a doctor, I know that, even while they might do so, the window for effective use of Plan-B is too short for comfort. That window is only 72 hours wide, with decreasing expectation of success even during that time.

Oh, one other thing..."a good deal for pedophiles" is an insanely stupid thing to say. If his semen is in her his DNA is there to be found. It doesn`t require childbirth and paternity testing to convict him. I don`t know this commentator. I do hope she`s not routinely that dumb.

    1. Is well documented what happens if you give hormones to a prepubescent girls.
    2. If someone has sex with a prepubescent girl they do not need an abortion pill.
    3. An adult who is only sexually attracted to teenagers is not A Pedophile. The term youre looking for is Ephebophilia.
    4. Teenage girls are also guilty of statutory rape.
    5. Teen sex is nothing new; it has been the norm for most of human existence
    6. The earth has an over population problem

    dm2754,
It should also be noted that we`re talking about a very limited course of therapy...a single dose of a single hormone.

I with you on this, CreamK. I couldn`t give 2 $#!+s about underage girls getting raped and then having the perp give her a pill to destroy the evidence.

How`s that go? Old enough to bleed...

    OldOllie,
The pill doesn`t destroy any evidence. It just makes it less likely that she`ll get pregnant. I`ve followed your posts and, while our politics are different, I don`t think you mean to advocate having a rape victim carry a pregnancy to term merely to have evidence against the rapist. I don`t think this is the place, or at least not the story, in which to start a Pro-Life/Pro-Choice debate.
