"The infrastructure for a Totalitarian state exists." Not in Hong Kong I can barely stream Youtube.

"Hong Kong? Really? Why not Cuba, Venezuela, or hell, half of S America. Uruguay perhaps..."

He`s made a miscalculation. He thinks China is the enemy of the USA; they want to rub the poo in the Americans` faces; Hong Kong is a puppet of China. Wrong on all counts.

Hong Kong will hand his arse over willingly, as long as all procedures are followed under English Common Law. The Chinese will endorse it milking it for every televised handshake with Obama that they can. They will play endless re-runs of the handshakes on HBO.

O.M.G.! He`s fled to Hong Kong. Numpty. The only free speech HK wants to protect is Chinese-related. He`ll just get extradited per the treaty. Then China`ll make a big show about not vetoing (no ongoing value anyway) and hey presto he`ll be on naked sleep interrupted `suicide watch` 24/7 for the rest of his natural life.

as soon as this guy said that hong kong had a long history of free speech I knew he was full of crap.
the NSA is so powerful that he just had to blow the whistle , but if he wanted to he could bring the whole thing down in an afternoon? I call bullpoo! when people document their whole life on facebook do you really think the nsa will scare them?

Brave man, but alas methinks it will be all in vain, society know it`s getting drated over, we know the powers that be arn`t serving our intrest and that we are letting things happen that we wouldn`t before 911. political idiology aside, the world is becoming a scarier place by the minute and i don`t see to many people protest.

" Does the left attack the tyrant? does the right defend the security measure? Or do neither do it and become hypocritical."

Like I said in the Land Of The Free? post, this isn`t a Left vs. Right, Dem vs. Repub or Liberal vs. Conservative issue, it`s a Gov`t vs. Citizens issue. The problem is that all the Teabaggers & Republicans are blasting the Democrats & Obama which is keeping people from seeing it that way.

He is a very brave man.

I mean that both with deep respect and the supposition that he just pulled the whisker of a tiger.

Really thou... You`re stupid if you didn`t know this was happening. There is no Internet anonymity. There is no such thing as privacy. You are free as long as you stay in the cage. (Ok You might make things a little difficult using proxies, but they`re traced too)
