Well, I for one don`t like her; that being said, she did a good job explaining the difference.

    I`m a non-interventionist.
We don`t want them telling us what to do so we don`t have the right to tell them how to govern themselves. Yes, that means muslims and treat their women like slaves, but we cannot rule the world. We should stop pretending to.

    Gerry,
I agree. I was behind Bush on Afganistan since the Afgan gov`t supported, protected, and, by extension thereby, participated in the 9/11 attacks on the US which constituted an act of war against us. We had the right and, I believe, an obligation to fight back. My only objection there was trying to do the job in a relatively minimalist way, trying, I suspect, to show off how hot we are. I think that not using overwhelming force is the reason we`re still there.
Iraq was a very different story. We used WMD`s as an excuse to invade a sovereign nation which was no real threat to us and take down Saddam Hussein.
Granted he was a bad guy and needed to go, but it wasn`t our place to do it and has caused an inexcusable cost in American lives, Iraqi lives, tax dollars that could`ve been put to better use, and world opinion.
If a country is in need and requests assistance, that`s one thing. Aside from that we need to learn to keep our nose out of others` business.

It saddens me because it seems so clear to me that greater liberty is always the answer yet so few people are on board with it. I must be wrong there must be something wrong with me to not want greater and greater intervention and manipulation in my life. Why can`t I find satisfaction with how the people who represent me treat our global neighbors? I`m going to go drink now.

@ broizfam, I was okay with Afghanastan, they protected Osama Bin Laden so naturally we were going in on a matter of principal. The rest has just been profit for war monderers and charlatan politicians.

What they do is their business, just sell us the oil.

"they protected Osama Bin Laden so naturally we were going in on a matter of principal"

It was their religious duty. I think their religion is whack, but at least they acted on principle to their obviously foreseeable detriment. In a way it`s poetic to see them win that war.

Who? She has the voice inflection of a teenager. I get the feeling someone said "Here, look at the camera and read this."
